Summary: A five part series on the Manifestational-Gifts of the Holy Spirit. Part 4 covers the gifts of healings, faith and the working of miracles.

The Gifts of the Holy Spirit – part IV

1 Cor 12:1 Now concerning spiritual gifts, brethren, I do not want you to be ignorant: 2 You know that you were Gentiles, carried away to these dumb idols, however you were led. 3 Therefore I make known to you that no one speaking by the Spirit of God calls Jesus accursed, and no one can say that Jesus is Lord except by the Holy Spirit. 4 There are diversities of gifts, but the same Spirit. 5 There are differences of ministries, but the same Lord. 6 And there are diversities of activities, but it is the same God who works all in all. 7 But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to each one for the profit of all: 8 for to one is given the word of wisdom through the Spirit, to another the word of knowledge through the same Spirit, 9 to another faith by the same Spirit, to another gifts of healings by the same Spirit, 10 to another the working of miracles, to another prophecy, to another discerning of spirits, to another different kinds of tongues, to another the interpretation of tongues. 11 But one and the same Spirit works all these things, distributing to each one individually as He wills.

The Power gifts

 The gifts of healings, the gift of faith, & the working of miracles.

 These are gifts in which the Holy Spirit performs supernatural exploits for man, without man’s strength or intelligence involved.

 Jesus commanded us to be vessels of His healing virtue.

Mark 16:17 And these signs will follow those who believe: In My name they will cast out demons; they will speak with new tongues; 18 they will take up serpents; and if they drink anything deadly, it will by no means hurt them; they will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover."

 Is this gift limited?

 Only by man’s faith or heart.

 Phil 2:25-26 The Apostle Paul could not heal everyone, he had to leave behind members of his evangelistic party.

A supernatural happening is only a miracle as far as man in concerned.

 Man cannot do these things in his own strength or wisdom.

The greek words are "energema dunamis"

 Energema – an operation or working; where we get the word "energy".

 Dunamis – ability, abundance, might, power, miracle, strength, mighty work, where we get the word "dynamite".

 "Energy of Dynamite"

 "Explosion of Power"

 In this gift God works the miraculous through man.

The gift of faith or working of miracles?

 It is the same Spirit working regardless.

 In the gift of Faith, God does everything for you.

 In the workings of miracles, He flows through you. God uses man to bring about the phenomenon.

 Stephen Acts 6:8 And Stephen, full of faith and power, did great wonders and signs among the people.

 Philip in Samaria

Acts 8:4-8 5 Then Philip went down to the city of Samaria and preached Christ to them. 6 And the multitudes with one accord heeded the things spoken by Philip, hearing and seeing the miracles which he did. 7 For unclean spirits, crying with a loud voice, came out of many who were possessed; and many who were paralyzed and lame were healed. 8 And there was great joy in that city.

Acts 8:26-40 – Preaching to the eunuch.

These gifts are for us.

 They are for believers like you and I.

 These gifts are a sign to those around us.

 There are more reasons today to flow in these gifts than ever.

 We should expect flow in the gifts of the Spirit.

 God said in these last days He would pour out His Spirit on His people.

Joel 2:27-32

27 Then you shall know that I am in the midst of Israel:

I am the LORD your God

And there is no other.

My people shall never be put to shame.

28 "And it shall come to pass afterward

That I will pour out My Spirit on all flesh;

Your sons and your daughters shall prophesy,

Your old men shall dream dreams,

Your young men shall see visions.

29 And also on My menservants and on My maidservants

I will pour out My Spirit in those days.

30 "And I will show wonders in the heavens and in the earth:

Blood and fire and pillars of smoke.

31 The sun shall be turned into darkness,

And the moon into blood,

Before the coming of the great and awesome day of the LORD.

32 And it shall come to pass

That whoever calls on the name of the LORD

Shall be saved.

For in Mount Zion and in Jerusalem there shall be deliverance,

As the LORD has said,

Among the remnant whom the LORD calls.

The gifts of the Spirit are a sign, weapon, benefit.

God desires to flow His power through us.
