GOD WANTS TO MOVE IN LIVES THAT SEEM TO BE DESTROYED

1 And they came over unto the other side of the sea, into the country of the Gadarenes. 2 And when he was come out of the ship, immediately there met him out of the tombs a man with an unclean spirit, 3 Who had his dwelling among the tombs; and no man could bind him, no, not with chains: 4 Because that he had been often bound with fetters and chains, and the chains had been plucked asunder by him, and the fetters broken in pieces: neither could any man tame him. 5 And always, night and day, he was in the mountains, and in the tombs, crying, and cutting himself with stones. 6 But when he saw Jesus afar off, he ran and worshipped him, 7 And cried with a loud voice, and said, What have I to do with thee, Jesus, thou Son of the most high God? I adjure thee by God, that thou torment me not. 8 For he said unto him, Come out of the man, thou unclean spirit.
9 And he asked him, What is thy name? And he answered, saying, My name is Legion: for we are many. 10 And he besought him much that he would not send them away out of the country. 11 Now there was there nigh unto the mountains a great herd of swine feeding. 12 And all the devils besought him, saying, Send us into the swine, that we may enter into them. 13 And forthwith Jesus gave them leave. And the unclean spirits went out, and entered into the swine: and the herd ran violently down a steep place into the sea, (they were about two thousand;) and were choked in the sea.
MARK 5:21
21 And when Jesus was passed over again by ship unto the other side, much people gathered unto him: and he was nigh unto the sea. 22 And, behold, there cometh one of the rulers of the synagogue, Jairus by name; and when he saw him, he fell at his feet, 23 And besought him greatly, saying, My little daughter lieth at the point of death: I pray thee, come and lay thy hands on her, that she may be healed; and she shall live. 24 And Jesus went with him; and much people followed him, and thronged him.
25 And a certain woman, which had an issue of blood twelve years, 26And had suffered many things of many physicians, and had spent all that she had, and was nothing bettered, but rather grew worse,
27 When she had heard of Jesus, came in the press behind, and touched his garment. 28 For she said, If I may touch but his clothes, I shall be whole. 29 And straightway the fountain of her blood was dried up; and she felt in her body that she was healed of that plague. 30 And Jesus, immediately knowing in himself that virtue had gone out of him, turned him about in the press, and said, Who touched my clothes? 31 And his disciples said unto him, Thou seest the multitude thronging thee, and sayest thou, Who touched me?
32 And he looked round about to see her that had done this thing. 33 But the woman fearing and trembling, knowing what was done in her, came and fell down before him, and told him all the truth.
34 And he said unto her, Daughter, thy faith hath made thee whole; go in peace, and be whole of thy plague.
35 While he yet spake, there came from the ruler of the synagogue’s house certain which said, Thy daughter is dead: why troublest thou the Master any further? 36 As soon as Jesus heard the word that was spoken, he saith unto the ruler of the synagogue, Be not afraid, only believe. 37 And he suffered no man to follow him, save Peter, and James, and John the brother of James. 38 And he cometh to the house of the ruler of the synagogue, and seeth the tumult, and them that wept and wailed greatly. 39 And when he was come in, he saith unto them, Why make ye this ado, and weep? the damsel is not dead, but sleepeth. 40 And they laughed him to scorn. But when he had put them all out, he taketh the father and the mother of the damsel, and them that were with him, and entereth in where the damsel was lying. 41 And he took the damsel by the hand, and said unto her, Talitha cumi; which is, being interpreted, Damsel, I say unto thee, arise. 42 And straightway the damsel arose, and walked; for she was of the age of twelve years. And they were astonished with a great astonishment.
MARK CHAPTER 5 IS OFTEN REGARDED BY SOME AS THE HOME OF THE INCURABLE
IN THIS ONE CHAPTER ALONE WE MEET THREE PEOPLE WHO HAVE ABSOLUTELY NO HOPE
THERE LIVES ARE BEING DESTROYED BY POWERS BEYOND THEIR CONTROL
ONE IS HOPELESSLY CONTROLLED BY DEMONIC POWERS
ONE IS CONTROLLED BY A LIFE THREATENING BLOOD DISORDER
WHILE THE THIRD IS FACING SURE DEATH
EACH ONE IS HOPELESS, FACING NOTHING BUT CRETAN DESTRUCTION AND PAIN
IF WE AS HOLY GHOST FILLED CHRISTIANS WERE TO MEET THESE THREE ON THE STREETS OF OUR CITY WHAT WOULD WE DO?
AS FOR THE DEMONIC, AFTER WE QUIT RUNNING FROM HIM, AND SHAKING IN OUR BOOTS, WE WOULD PROBABLY CALL THE MENTAL HOSPITAL AND HAVE THEM SEND THE STRAIGHT JACKET FOR HIM
AS FOR THE WOMAN WITH THE ISSUE OF BLOOD, WE WOULD PROBABLY TELL HER ABOUT HOW THAT WE KNEW SOMEONE ELSE WHO HAD THE SAME SICKNESS THAT SHE HAD, AND HOW THAT THEY DIED
AS FOR THE LITTLE GIRL, WE WOULD PROBABLY WANT TO DO SOMETHING HELPFUL SUCH AS OFFERING TO HELP PICK OUT THE CASKET AND MAKE THE FUNERAL ARRANGEMENTS
THIS MAY SOUND HARSH AND EXTREME, BUT WE FACE PEOPLE EVERY DAY WITH SITUATIONS IN THEIR LIVES JUST AS DRAMATIC AS THESE THREE
THERE MAY BE SOME HERE TODAY FACING THEIR OWN PERSONAL SITUATIONS THAT SEEM AS HOPELESS AS THESE FACED
THERE ARE MANY TODAY THAT LIFE’S CIRCUMSTANCES HAVE LEFT THEM HOPELESS, THEY CONSTANTLY FACE NOTHING BUT CERTAIN DESTRUCTION AND HARDSHIP
BUT THERE IS GOOD NEWS THIS MORNING, JESUS IS IN OUR MIDST
AS THE DEMONIC, WAS CONTROLLED BY FORCES AND POWERS OTHER THAN HIS OWN, HE WAS HELPLESS IN OVERCOMING THE POWER OF SATAN THAT WAS DESTROYING HIS LIFE
THERE ARE MANY TODAY WHILE THEY MIGHT NOT BE POSSESSED AS SUCH, SATAN STILL HAS AN INFLUENCE OVER THEIR LIVES CAUSING THEM TO ACT IN WAYS THAT ARE AGAINST THEIR NATURE
IS THERE A DIFFERENCE? YES THERE IS
DEMON POISSON IS REAL MAKE NO MISTAKE ABOUT IT
DEMON POSSESSION is the control of an individual’s personality so that actions are influenced by an evil demonic spirit.
DEMON POISSON IS NOTHING LIKE THE PICTURE THAT HOLLYWOOD TRIES TO PAINT
TIME WILL NOT PERMIT ME TO GO INTO THE GREAT DEPTHS OF THIS SUBJECT THIS MORNING
THERE ARE MANY TODAY WHO ARE MERELY INFLUENCED BY SATAN, AND THERE ARE THOSE WHO ARE CONTROLLED BY SATAN

WEBSTER DEFINES INFLUENCE AS THE POWER TO ACT ON OR AFFECT ANOTHER PERSON
WHILE CONTROLLED IS DEFINED AS TO HAVE THE POWER TO RULE, GUIDE OR MANAGE
CAN YOU SEE THE DIFFERENCE?
MY FRIEND THE INFLUENCES OF SATAN MIGHT HAVE CAUSED YOU TO DO THINGS THAT YOU KNOW THE LORD IS NOT PLEASED WITH
SOMETIMES THESE INFLUENCES MIGHT CAUSE YOU TO HURT OTHERS
MANY TIMES THESE INFLUENCES CAUSE YOU MUCH PAIN, AND GUILT
BUT BE OF GOOD CHEER, JESUS IS VICTORIOUS OVER THE INFLUENCES OF SATAN
JUST AS CHRIST SET THE DEMONIC FREE FROM THE TORTURE OF THE EVIL SPIRITS THAT WERE DESTROYING HIS LIFE,
HE WANTS TO SET YOU FREE FROM THE DEMONIC INFLUENCE OF SATAN THAT IS HOLDING THE BETTER THINGS THAT GOD HAS FOR YOU BACK
MY FRIEND JUST AS SURE AS THE LORD CAN SET FREE THOSE WHO ARE POSSESSED OR CONTROLLED BY SATAN, HE CAN SET YOU FREE WHO SATAN HAS A GREAT INFLUENCE AS WELL
THE WOMAN WITH THE ISSUE OF BLOOD
WHO’S LIFE WAS BEING CONTROLLED BY SICKNESS AND DISEASE
SICKNESS WAS A PART OF HER EVERYDAY LIFE
PAIN WAS A PART OF HER EVERYDAY LIFE
BECAUSE OF HER SICKNESS SHE FELT LIKE A PRISONER, TRAPPED IN A PRISON CELL WITH NO KEY
HER SICKNESS CONTROLLED HER LIKE A SLAVE MASTER
SHE HAD LITTLE OR NO HOPE FOR ANYTHING BETTER, FOR 12 LONG YEARS SHE SUFFERED
SHE TRIED EVERYTHING THAT THE WISE MEN OF MEDICINE HAD TOLD HER TO TRY WITH NO SUCCESS, IN FACT SHE WAS GETTING WORSE
NOT ONLY WAS SHE AT WAR WITH SICKNESS, BUT ACCORDING O JEWISH LAW SHE WAS ALSO BANISHED FROM BEING IN PUBLIC BECAUSE OF THE FLOWING OF THE BLOOD FROM HER BODY
BUT SHE HEARD OF JESUS, HAVE YOU HEARD OF JESUS?
SHE PRESSED HER WAY THROUGH THE CROWD TO TOUCH THE HEM OF HIS GARMENT

28 For she said, If I may touch but his clothes, I shall be whole
WHEN JESUS WAS IN THE MIDST SHE HAD TO PRESS IN
SHE HAD TO PRESS THROUGH OTHER PEOPLE WHO WOULD STAND IN HER WAY
SHE HAD TO PRESS THROUGH THE NEGATIVE ATTITUDE OF FAITHLESSNESS’ THAT WOULD TELL HER IT IS NO USE
SHE HAD TO PRESS THROUGH THE BARRIERS AND OBSTACLES THAT WOULD STAND IN HER WAY
WHEN SHE TOUCHED JESUS, HER FAITH MADE THE DIFFERENCE
THERE WERE MANY THAT WERE TOUCHING HIM THAT DAY, BUT THE FAITH OF ONE LITTLE WOMAN WHO WOULD NOT QUIT, WHO WOULD NOT GIVE UP,
IT WAS BY HER DETERMINED FAITH THAT AS SOON AS SHE TOUCHED JESUS, NOT ONLY WAS SHE HEALED, BUT CHRIST KNEW THAT SOMEONE HAD TOUCHED HIM
HE IS HERE IN OUR MIDST THIS MORNING AS HIS WORD HAS PROMISED
THE LITTLE WOMAN HAD AN ISSUE OF BLOOD, WHAT IS YOUR ISSUE?
SHE HAD TO PRESS IN, ARE YOU WILLING TO PRESS IN THIS MORNING?
PRESS IN PAST THE OTHER PEOPLE WHO WOULD STAND IN YOUR WAY
PRESS IN PAST THE DISCOURAGEMENTS THAT WOULD KEEP YOUR ISSUE FROM BEING MET?
PRESS IN PAST THE HINDRANCES THAT WOULD STAND BETWEEN YOU AND VICTORY
JAIRUS’S DAUGHTER HAD A DARK CLOUD HOVERING OVER HER
HER SICKNESS MOST LIKELY WOULD CAUSE HER DEATH
THE HORIZON CAN’T GET MUCH DARKER THAN THAT
ONCE AGAIN THINGS WEREN’T GETTING BETTER, BUT WERE PROGRESSIVELY GETTING WORSE
SURE GLOOM AND DOOM WERE IN THE FORECAST, NOTHING GOOD WAS IN SIGHT
THIS POOR SOUL WAS BEYOND HELP, ALL POSSIBILITIES AND REMEDIES HAD BEEN EXPANDED
BUT JESUS WAS PASSING BY
MY FRIEND IS THERE GLOOM AND DOOM KNOCKING AT YOUR DOOR?
HAVE YOU TRIED EVERY TRICK IN THE BOOK AND NOTHING SEEMS TO WORK?
IF SOMETHING DOESN’T HAPPEN RIGHT NOW THE WORST POSSIBLE THING THAT COULD HAPPEN WILL HAPPEN
LETS LOOK AT JAIRUS FOR A MOMENT
THE BIBLE TELLS US THAT HE WAS A RULER OF A SYNAGOGUE, NO DOUBT A VERY DEVOUT JEW TO THE BONE
BUT HIS RELIGION COULD NOT DENY WHAT HE HAD HEARD ABOUT THE THINGS THAT CHRIST HAD DONE
ON ONE HAND HE WAS A JEW, ON THE OTHER HAND HE WAS A FATHER
HIS HEAD TOLD HIM THIS MAN WAN NOT OF GOD, WHILE HIS HEART TOLD HIM THIS MAN WAS HIS ONLY HOPE
THANK GOD LOVE PREVAILED
ALTHOUGH THERE WERE PROBABLY SOME UNANSWERED QUESTIONS IN HIS MIND, JAIRUS WENT TO JESUS IN LOVE
MY FRIEND, YOUR HORIZON MAY LOOK DARK AND BLEAK
THE FORECASTERS MAY BE TELLING SOME BAD NEWS, BUT JESUS IS PASSING BY
YOUR SADNESS WILL TURN TO JOY WHEN YOU REACH OUT TO CHRIST IN FAITH AND LOVE
ARE THERE SOME PLACES IN YOUR LIFE THIS MORNING THAT HAVE BEEN DESTROYED?
