REVELATION 22:6-21
He closes with words of hope. God’s message of hope is the only hope man has. We live in a world of fact and figures - a world that wants to know what is truth. Three things we can count on and be assured of between now and the end.
HE ASSURES US OF:
I. THE RELIABILITY OF GOD’S WORD 22:6
A. It’s Author - I Peter 1:19-21; II Tim. 3:16; Protector v-18-19
B. It’s Accuracy - all its promises
Matthew 5:18 For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled.
C. It’s Agelessness -
Matthew 24:35 Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away.
II. THE RETURN OF JESUS CHRIST 22:7
A. Soon 22:6, 7, 12, 20
B. Sure 22:7, 12, 20
C. Sudden 22:7, 12, 20
III. THE ENDOWMENT OF REWARDS 22:12
Mah-ar-ee-os = blessed. Is it wrong to look for a reward? No! “What has this book motivated us to do?” 22:12
The Christian is rewarded for their:
A. Works 22:6 “servants” & 22:12
B. Worship 22:9
C. Witness 22:10, 17 Ps. 126:6
