#3 BASKETCASES HOLDERS, SNUFFING OUT THE LIGHT

By Wade Martin Hughes, Sr.

Dear friends: Part#3 OF 4 PART Basketcases holders.

TEXT:

2 Corinthians 11:33 And through a window in a basket was I let down by the wall, and escaped his hands.

Matthew 10:42And whosoever shall give to drink unto one of these little ones a cup of COLD wateronly in the name of a disciple, very I say unto you, he shall in no wise lose his reward.

2 Kings 5:11 ..

...BUT NAAMAN WAS WROTH, AND WENT AWAY, AND SAID, BEHOLD I THOUGHT (His thinking and logic can not produce the needed healing), HE WILL SURELY COME OUT TO ME, AND STAND, AND CALL ON THE NAME OF THE LORD, HIS GOD, AND STRIKE HIS HAND OVER THE PLACE, AND RECOVER THE LEPER. VS. 12 SO HE TURNED AND WENT AWAY IN A RAGE.

1Chron.16:22 ... Touch not mine anointed, and do my prophets no harm.

Ponder #3 Basket case holders going wrong and snuffing out the light they were called to advance? Pass it on?

Today, as we ponder deeper, we ponder and I consider the role of basketcase holer turning sour, and instead of being a basket case holder,

the coworker turns on the individual and thus on the office of God’s leader.

Please, consider this with much depth.

We often fail to realize how important it is to not be rebellious and stand with the man of God.

We base this firmly on the Word, 1 Chron.16:22 and Psalms 105:15.

We have lost of fear of the lack of respect for the altar, the House of God, and the man of God.

Using the power of repetition, the Word strongly suggest to not touch the anointed and do no harm.

Harm may not be fist or guns, but verbal abuse, mental damage.

You can quickly kill the man of God’s influence with a few words, that you never pondered the ramifications of the power of your words.

Often, we talk about Christian workers and how they do things differently than you thought they should have?

We needed a holy fear, respect, reverence to return to the Body of Christ for the man of God.

I fear miracles are lost, healings missed, because of misunderstanding the office of the man of God.

The man of God must be above the desire for applause and popularity.

By touching the man of God, we are touching the message of God.

Those that touch these things will pay dearly.

I have seen many individuals that tasted preachers blood and acquired a taste for more, and their children become resistance to authority, and the parents could not see that their attitude toward God’s man influenced their behavior?

Let’s look in the Bible and catch a bad attitude toward the man of God that almost stopped a miracle.

2 Kings 5:11 ..

...BUT NAAMAN WAS WROTH, AND WENT AWAY, AND SAID, (please note the roll of the spoken word against the message and the messenger), BEHOLD I THOUGHT (His thinking and logic can not produce the needed healing), HE WILL SURELY COME OUT TO ME, AND STAND, AND CALL ON THE NAME OF THE LORD, HIS GOD, AND STRIKE HIS HAND OVER THE PLACE, AND RECOVER THE LEPER.

VS. 12 SO HE TURNED AND WENT AWAY IN A RAGE.

This little temper fit is a sign of immaturity and spiritual rebellion that almost cost Naaman a sure, painful death as an outcast.

The nerve of a man trying to influence the message, the messenger, by turning healing into a show.

The man of God refused as much as to come out and see the man. I going to tell you something very plain, the men of God can’t reduce God to a "circus-atmosphere."

I know when the servant, Gehazi reports to the man of God on Naaman temper fit, that the man of God was hurt.

And those hearing Naaman’s temper fit of utter disgust with the man of God, will never totally erase the words loosed by the enemy! I am thankful the man of God never bowed to popular opinion!

When we speak against God’s message, we loose demonic powers.

Naaman should thank God there was a man that had spent time in the Holy Presence OF THE ALMIGHTY.

Can you imagine, telling the doctor, my gall bladder is here behind my lungs?

To be real honest, to come against the man of God is a lack of submission.

Naaman refused to submit what he was expecting, to what God had planned.

God does not need your approval to do His work.

God’s man does not have to have your approval, but if you expect healing, you better SHUT THAT MOUTH AND REPENT.

Naaman was healed totally when he submitted to what the man of God said, not what he thought.

Some where in the body of Christ we need a Holy Reverence for GOD’S Man to return and stay.

Saul had little, to no reverence for God’s man.

Saul could not wait, a lack of patience with the man of God.

So, the people made him disobey? HA!

It was the lack of respect for the office and the man of God.

With no fear, Saul reaches and pulls the man of God’s cape off his shoulders, this represents the Holy anointing--

Samuel turns to his man, a basketcase holder, (and with many tears for many days), Samuel says, God will tear the kingdom, (thus the anointing) from you and your family. How sad?

The man of God declares, 1 Sam. 15:22 obedience beats sacrificing.

Now, this is an essential lesson.

Saul never repents, he says ... Samuel you pray for me.

As the sun settles in the western sky, many days later,

Saul and his sons all die a needless death, because of the lack of reverence for God’s man and God’s message.

When Saul got BIG in his own eyes, God’s judgments were sure.

How must have Saul felt looking over the dead body of his precious son, Jonathan, and seeing the terrible cost of the lack of submission and reverence for the Holy?

Do you think God will hold us guiltless if we continue to release words attacking His workers?

It does not matter if you approve of their make-up, method, or message.

We are not judges, we are servants?

God has vessels of great and lesser values, but God will use as He chooses. God takes not popular, majority votes?

How stupid was Ahab and Jezebel to blame the drought on the man of God?

See to blame others, is a way of PALLIATING (making light), EXCUSING SELF.

The man of God never brought the drought.

Sin in the camp, lack of respect for the Holy did.

As Elijah ran for his life, from Jezebel, (that had vowed to have the man of God killed), she brought God’s judgment down on her home, she had no fear of the message or the messenger.

Today, in the church facing drought, many want to blame the man of God?

We need self-evaluation, repentance, and revival, where we sing,

"IT’S ME, IT’S ME, O, LORD STANDING IN THE NEED OF PRAYER----"

God restore in Your House a healthy respect of the

MESSAGE----THE MESSENGER----AND THE WORD OF GOD.

Here, doggie, here doggie, do the work of God and lick the blood of the rebellious and those that lack respect ----- (read Ahab & Jezebel’s end.)

Will we count the cost of lacking to hold the basket of the man of God?

You need to beware and avoid any temptation to listen to negative reports on the men of God.

If you listen, you might add to,--- or repeat the negative story of someone that has misunderstood, or is jealous, or their sin was expose....

And the motive is not healthy.

As a beautiful girl, had John the Baptist head on a silver tray, the death of the man of God came about because of a lady’s anger toward the message against adultery.

The girl was innocent in a way, yet it was her words that silence a powerful message by killing the messenger?

Do you have some preacher’s head on a silver tray in your dining room?

Herodias was a sick, revengeful woman with an ax to grind on the head of the messeger.

That young lady could not see the motive behind the words against the message and the messenger?

That young lady could have had a new home? A super chariot and fast horses?

But history records her as a pawn in the hand of mad, vengeful sick, sinner.

How can this lady stand in front of a mighty God knowing she snuffed out the light of a God-ordained ministry?

Have you ever asked for the preacher’s head?

Do you have his head around your committee meetings?

Have you ever put out the light of God in His man by stating your opinion, he should have come out and knocked me down?

Please, Jesus forgive our society and church for lacking in a Holy fear and respect for your men.

May we learn to be quiet. May we see the value of the ropr holder when the minister is a basket case. May we teach others.
