Summary: What should be seen when looking at the Church of Jesus Christ our Lord?

CHRIST THE HEAD. (Eph. 5:23) "Christ is head of the church; and He is the Savior of the body..."

Cornerstone and the Capstone. (Foundation and Completion)

(2 Pet. 2:6-7) "Behold, I lay in Zion A chief cornerstone, elect, precious, And he who believes on Him will by no means be put to shame." Therefore, to you who believe, He is precious; but to those who are disobedient, "The stone which the builders rejected Has become the chief cornerstone."

Hell defeated. (Victory)

(Matt. 16:18) "and on this rock I will build My church, and the gates of Hell shall not prevail against it..."

Reigning at the right hand of God. (Place of Authority) (Heb. 12)

Interceding for us.

(Heb. 7:25) "Therefore He is also able to save to the uttermost those who come to God through Him, since He always lives to make intercession for them."

Saving Blood. (Gift of Love)

(Eph. 1:7) "In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of His grace."

Take us to be with Him in Glory. (John 14:6) "I go to prepare a place of you..."

"WHEN PEOPLE SEE THE CHURCH, THEY SHOULD SEE CHRIST AS THE HEAD AND NOT ANY OF MAN’S ABILITIES. I PRAY THAT WE WILL GIVE HIM THE PRAISE, CREDIT AND GLORY FOR ALL THAT THE CHURCH WAS, IS, AND WILL BECOME."

HUMBLED PEOPLE. (1 Pet. 5:6) "Therefore humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God..."

(Phil. 2:5-8a) "Let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus, who, being in the form of God, did not consider it robbery to be equal with God, but made Himself of no reputation, taking the form of a bondservant, and coming in the likeness of men. And being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself and became obedient..."

Humble in the Church.

(Eph. 5:23) "Christ is head of the church; and He is the Savior of the body..."

Humble in the Home.

(Eph. 5:21-25) "submit to one another in the fear of God. Wives, submit to your own husbands, as to the Lord. For the husband is head of the wife, as also Christ is head of the church; so let the wives be (subject) to their own husbands in everything... Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ also loved the church and gave Himself for her;"

Humble at the Job.

(Titus 3:1-2) "Remind them to be subject to rulers and authorities, to obey, to be ready for every good work, to speak evil of no one, to be peaceable, gentle, showing all humility to all men."

"WHEN PEOPLE LOOK AT THE CHURCH, THEY SHOULD SEE BELIEVERS WHO ARE HUMBLED IN HEART AND ARE NOT SEEKING TO EXALT THEMSELVES, BUT CHRIST OUR ONLY LORD AND SAVIOR."

UNITY. (Psalm 133:1) "Behold, how good and how pleasant it is For brethren to dwell together in unity!"

We need to be unified in our Doctrine and in our worship.

(1 Cor. 1:10) "Now I plead with you, brethren, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that you all speak the same thing, and that there be no divisions among you, but that you be perfectly joined together in the same mind and in the same judgment."

(Eph. 4:3-6) "endeavor to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace. There is one body and one Spirit, just as you were called in one hope of your calling; one Lord, one faith, one baptism; one God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all.

Ultimately it is love that unifies us.

(1 John 3:10) "In this the children of God and the children of the devil are manifest: Whoever does not practice righteousness is not of God, nor is he who does not love his brother."

"WHEN LOOKING AT THE CHURCH, PEOPLE SHOULD SEE A UNITY THAT CAN NOT BE FOUND ANYWHERE IN THE WORLD, BUT ONLY FOUND WHERE GOD AND HIS PEOPLE DWELL."

REACHING THE LOST AS A PRIORITY. (Matt. 24:14) "And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in all the world as a witness to all the nations, and then the end will come."

"WHEN LOOKING AT THE CHURCH WE SHOULD SEE A PEOPLE WHO ARE WILLING TO GIVE UP ALL THAT IS PRECIOUS TO THEM, INCLUDING THEIR OWN LIFE, FOR THE CAUSE OF PREACHING THE GOSPEL OF CHRIST OUR LORD."

CHANGED PEOPLE. (Acts 3) Cripple man at the gate called Beautiful.

"WHEN LOOKING AT THE CHURCH, PEOPLE SHOULD SEE MEN AND WOMEN WHO ARE NOTHING LIKE THOSE IN THE WORLD, BUT ARE LIKE THE LORD JESUS CHRIST WHOM THEY SERVE."

HOPEFUL IN THINGS THAT ARE NOT OF THIS WORLD, BUT ONE TO COME.

(Job 13:15) "Though He slay me, yet will I trust Him."

(Ps. 62:5) "My soul, wait silently for God alone, For my expectation is from Him."

(1 Pet. 1:3) "Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who according to His abundant mercy has begotten us again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead."

(Col. 1:27) "Christ, the hope of glory..."

(Titus 2:13) "looking for the blessed hope and glorious appearing of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ."

"FINALLY, WHEN LOOKING AT THE CHURCH, PEOPLE SHOULD SEE A HOPE THAT IS NOT FOUND IN MONEY, COMFORT, FAMILY, HEALTH, FRIENDS OR ANYTHING ELSE THAT THIS WORLD HOLDS. THEY SHOULD SEE A HOPE IN THE PROMISE OF GOD IN CHRIST ’I WILL COME AGAIN’."
