INESTIMABLE WORTH
"Again, the kingdom of heaven is like a merchant seeking beautiful pearls, who, when he had found one pearl of great price, went and sold all that he had and bought it." Matthew 13:45-46.
There are some things in life that we cannot determine the extent of their worth because their value transcends our ability to calculate. Three such things are: the Bible; the Church; and our Faith. Consider:
I. WE HAVE A BIBLE WORTH BELIEVING! Because…
THE WORD OF GOD IS THE WELLSPRING OF OUR SALVATION!
"So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God." Romans 10:17.
"Having been born again, not of corruptible seed but incorruptible, through the word of God, which lives and abides forever." I Peter 1:23.
THE WORD OF GOD IS A LIGHT TO ILLUMINE OUR PATHWAY!
"Thy word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path." Psalm 119:105.
THE WORD OF GOD IS OUR POWER-SOURCE FOR HOLY LIVING!
"Thy word I have hidden [treasured] in my heart, that I might not sin against Thee." Psalm 119:11.
THE WORD OF GOD IS OUR SOURCE OF HOPE AND COMFORT IN TIME OF DISTRESS.
"Therefore comfort one another with these words." I Thessalonians 4:18
II. WE HAVE A CHURCH WORTH SUPPORTING! Because…
THE CHURCH IS BEING BUILT BY OUR LORD HIMSELF!
"Upon this rock I will build My church and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it." Matthew 16:18.
THE CHURCH HAS BEEN PURCHASED WITH HIS OWN BLOOD!
"Therefore take heed to yourselves and to all the flock, among which the Holy Spirit has made you overseers, to shepherd the church of God which He purchased with His own blood." Acts 20:28.
THE CHURCH IS THE BODY OF CHRIST!
"And He [the Father] put all things in subjection under His [Christ] feet, and gave Him as head over all things to the church, which is His body, the fullness of Him who fills all in all." Ephesians 1:22-23.
III. WE HAVE A FAITH WORTH SHARING! Because…
NO ONE CAN BE SAVED APART FROM FAITH IN JESUS CHRIST!
"Knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law but by faith in Jesus Christ…" Galatians 2:16a.
NO ONE CAN BE PLEASING UNTO GOD WITHOUT FAITH!
"Without faith it is impossible to please Him…" Hebrews 11:6a
FAITH IS A GIFT OF GOD THAT HE WANTS EVERYONE TO ACCEPT!
"For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of your- selves, it is the gift of God." Ephesians 2:8
"Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and thou shalt be saved." Acts 16:31
"And the Spirit and the bride [the church] say, ’Come!’ And let him who hears say ’Come!’ Revelation 2:17a
