Summary: Jesus gave his life on the Cross so that we can take His life as ours.

The Great Give and Take

Resurrection Sunday 4.20.2003

During this joyous time of the year when we remember the great victory that Jesus gave us on the cross and the empty tomb, we must remember that there was a great give and take that took place that enabled us to live the lives that we have today. It was the give and take of eternity that was played out on a hill outside of Jerusalem as well as the empty tomb that today empowers us to live the victorious lives that are ours in Christ. It was a fair game, the price was established in eternity past and now paid in full by one Man, the Spotless Lamb of God who took upon himself the sin of a lost world. The Spotless Lamb of God who became sin for us who had never knew sin himself, all for the love of a fallen race.

“But if the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, He who raised Christ Jesus from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through His Spirit who dwells in you.” Romans 8:11
