Summary: Love needs to be shared with your community.

Love

Give each child a penny. Have a basket filled with one penny for each member of the church and the Sunday school. Ask the children how they might spend a penny. (Bubble gum, Penny Candy). It doesn’t buy much does it? If you only think about yourself when you think of love, it is the same thing. It doesn’t accomplish much, does it? Listen to this song (or poem).

Love is something if you give it away, give it away, give it away.

Love is something if you give it away, you end up having more.

It’s just like a magic penny, hold it tight and you won’t have any,

Lend it spend it and you’ll have so many,

They’ll roll all over the floor. For

Love is something if you give it away, you end up having more.

What could you do with your penny that might make it more valuable? You could put them together and buy a sack of candy to share. You could buy a tool for Habitat for Humanity (or another type of mission project the church supports). You see, when you share love, like this penny, and like the song says, it becomes more valuable.
