Victory or Defeat??
Read: Psalms 44:7 – end of chapter
Proof that we are truly on a battlefield for our Lord where there will be a winner and there will be a loser. There will be victory or there will be defeat.
In battle, you use tactics and strategies and you put all these together to plan an attack against your enemy.
BUT the wonderful thing about this battle is, all of our enemies secrets are revealed, which makes victory that much sweeter.
We all will have victory through our Lord Jesus but that doesn’t stop the enemy from trying to take us down.
Sounds like a victory to me!!!! How about you?
Satan is very very clever. He knows our weaknesses and he knows our strengths. Think about that, he knows EXACTLY what can press your buttons. He knows EXACTLY what to use to try and turn you away from God. TEMPTATION!!!!!
Tempts us with everything. Examples
1) Television
a) This is the powerful tool the devil uses to attract children. Starts out with cartoons then as they get older they tend to slip into the movie scene. Movies with profanity, or violence, or nudity. In some cases these attributes can become a part of their lives. Before ya know it the devil is in and so is the addiction.
2) Smoking or Drug Use
a) Why would anyone want smoke inside they’re body?? Causes cancer. You are damaging God’s property. The bible says “Ye are not your own” meaning your body belongs to God so take care of it.
b) Nowadays its all about what the new drug is. Marijuana, cocaine, speed, ecstasy, and in some cases people are drinking gasoline and kerosene. WHY??? It’s gonna get worse before it gets better. Now is the time to turn it around.
3) Money
a) Gotta have money to live in this world. Most people don’t want money that they can just live on. They want wealth. More More More. In most cases the more money you get, the more money you want. It truly is the root of all evil. Its because of money we have so many court case and law suits. Money will split marriages, brother/sisters, family members, friends, etc. YOU CANT TAKE IT WITH YOU SO FORGIVE AND TURN THE OTHER CHEEK. If the Lord was to come today, would you want this grudge on your record??? I think not.
4) Through Family Members and Friends
a) The Bible says “The brother shall deliver up the brother to death, and the father the child; and the children shall rise up against their parents, and cause them to be put to death.”
b) In the times that we are in, your family will turn against you. They will deceive you, they will persecute you, they will talk bad behind your back, they will be jealous of you which will cause them to betray you. It is to be expected. Do not be shocked when family and friends do this. This is from THE WORD. So if you’ve heard if from THE WORD, you will have less expectation. It will hurt of course, we all have feelings, but victory awaits in the end!!!
You have a friend that sticketh closer than a brother.
The bible says “Let all bitterness, and wrath, and anger, and clamour, and evil speaking, be put away from you, with all malice; and be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ’s sake hath forgiven you.”
That’s just a few of the ways the devil can defeat you.
Some say “Why does God allow this type of suffering to happen to His children??”
God is a pure and Holy God, he allows these temptations and sufferings to strengthen our faith in Him. He doesn’t like to see us suffer or to see suffering itself, but seeing that we trust in Him enough to overcome these valleys makes Him so proud. These valleys will build our relationship with Him. It will brings us closer to Him.
As God’s children, we must recognize the devil and know when he is at work.
I’ve heard people say don’t fight the devil because you’ll lose. Just resist him. I don’t fully believe that. There’s no way I can lose. If Satan wants to attack me with temptations, I’ll attack him right back with the Word. Satan is already defeated. I’m already the victor through my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. I’m just waiting for the trumpet to sound!!!!!!!!
And after the trumpet sounds, heaven will open, and behold a white horse and He that sits upon him is called FAITHFUL and TRUE. Eyes like a flame of fire, wearing many crowns. He will be clothed in a vesture dipped in blood; and His name is called the WORD Of GOD. Armies that follow Him will be clothed in fine linen, white and clean. And on His vesture and on His thigh a name written, KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS.
And an angel standing in the sun will cry out with a loud voice, “Come and gather yourselves together unto the supper of the great God.
And the beast and kings of the earth, and their armies, and the false prophet were all gathered and cast into the lake of fire burning with brimstone.
And in the new heaven and new earth will be shout VICTORY, for there will be no more death and no more pain. No more sin and no more sorrow. No more trouble, no trials, no valleys, nor will there be anymore tears for we will be in the loving arms of our Lord and surrounded by all of our loved ones that have gone on before.
