INTRO: A VITAL PRINCIPAL IN WARFARE - NEVER UNDERESTIMATE
THE ENEMY!
a. Many battles have been lost because the potential of ones enemy was overlooked. American Revolution. Viet-Nam
1. Satan comes even as an angel of Light!
b. Must understand strategies of the flesh as it does battle with the HS
c. The last time we were together we learned the:
CHARACTER OF HAMAN - PROUD, SELF-CENTERED
1. Now we are told how he works - His methodology or strategy.
Scripture- We are not ignorant of satans cunning devices.
Devices gk. Intellect, purpose, disposition, mind, thoughts.
I HAMAN DETERMINES TO USE THE KING TO DESTROY MORDECAI
Do you know that is what the devil does with you and I.
( Its never a frontal attack, he is to cleaver for that. )
READ ESTHER 3:6 He works at getting the soul to despise the spirit.
1. The enemy - avoids the center of the soul, and works on the perimeter.
ATTITUDES as opposed to our CONVICTIONS
Convictions: Are what we strongly believe and satan has a hard time there
Altitudes : On the other hand are very easy for him to manipulate.
B. HAMAN BEGINS WITH THE PEOPLE OF MORDECAI - NOT HIM
1. Follow the history of Israel - Satan has always attacked God’s people as opposed to God directly.
Adam/Eve Herod. Haman here In Egypt with pharaoh etc. etc,
WHY ? What is the purpose of the Jews in History.
2. The purpose of the Jews in History - Is to reveal the greatness of Jehovah God. Jehovah jireh, nissi, shalom, El Shaddai.
Very similar to the way Jesus is seen in the Marital Relationship or in The Church Body today.
a. How do people around us know God is at work?
1. Is it through works / Deeds. Religious activity( pharisees )
NO! - UNMISTAKABLE EVIDENCE * Fruit of the Spirit ( Gal. 5:22-23 )
1. True manifestation of these reveal H.S. at work in us.
2. Remember They are fruit of HS ( results ) that reveal the HS.
Just as the jews were people of Mordecai and not Mordecai himself
3. And this is where satan will attack. The command or control center.
Attacks Love - Joy - Peace - Long Suffering - Kindness - Goodness Faithfulness - gentleness - self control ( he seeks to destroy these)
4. Strategy of the Flesh - seek to convince the soul ( king ) these ( Jews) fruit of the HS are attitudes or marks of weakness and not good for you. Says there not good for you.
C. HIS METHOD - Esther 3:7-8
1. Superstition: selecting ( cast lots ) a day or month to carry out his plan.
a. Like horoscopes, tarot cards, ouigi boards, fortune tellers etc.
2. HAMANS APPEAL - These people aren’t good for you. Get rid of them.
Hitler is the 20th Century version or Saddam Hussein with Israel
