Summary: MY FRIEND GOD’S GRACE IS FOR ALL AND BY GOD’S GRACE WE ARE LEAD.

GOD’S AMAZING GRACE

TITUS 2:11-14

INTRO:

A STORY WAS TOLD ABOUT A JUDGE, THAT IN HIS COURT ONE DAY CAME A LADY WHO WAS CHARGED WITH SHOP LIFTING A LOAF OF BREAD.

SHE EXPLAINED TO THE JUDGE THAT HER DAUGHTER HAD BEEN HURT AND UNABLE TO WORK, SO THEREFORE THERE WAS NO FOOD IN THE HOUSE FOR HER TWO GRANDCHILDREN AND THEY WERE STARVING. SO SHE WAS FORCED TO STEEL THE BREAD TO FEED THE KIDS.

YET THE STORE KEEPER WAS DETERMINED TO PRESS CHARGES. AND THIS FORCED THE JUDGE TO CHARGE HER WITH THE CRIME. THE PUNISHMENT WAS $10 OR 10 DAYS IN JAIL.

THE JUDGE NO SOONER BANG HIS GAVEL THAN HE PULLED $10 OUT TO PAY THE FINE HIMSELF, AND HE ORDERED EVERYONE IN HIS COURT TO PAY $.50 FINE BECAUSE THERE WAS NO EXCUSE ANYONE IN HIS CITY SHOULD HAVE TO STEEL FOR FOOD. $47 WAS GATHERED FOR THE OLD LADY THAT DAY TO HELP FEED HER STARVING GRANDCHILDREN.

NOW THAT IS GRACE!

PAUL TEACHES US HERE IN OUR TEXT THAT GOD’S GRACE IS:

A) SUFFICIENT

B) LONGSUFFERING

C) ABUNDANT

MY FRIEND GOD’S GRACE IS FOR ALL AND BY GOD’S GRACE WE ARE LEAD.

TODAY I WANT TO TALK ABOUT GOD’S GRACE AND THE THREE WAYS IT LEADS US:

I. GOD’S GRACE LEADS TO ETERNITY: v.11

“For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men,”

A) GRACE OPENS THE DOOR TO ETERNITY

1) IT’S ONLY BY GOD’S GRACE THAT WE THAT WE CAN HAVE SALVATION

a) EVERYONE NEEDS GRACE BECAUSE OF SIN

“For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;” Rom. 3:23

b) SIN IS DEATH

c) SEPERATION FROM GOD

d) THE GOOD NEWS IS THAT GOD GIVEN US GRACE AND OFFERS US SALVATION, THROUGH CHRIST

“For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.” Rom 6:23

2) GOD’S GRACE IS:

a) FREE

b) SOVEREIGN

c) COMPLETE

B) GOD’S GRACE IS FOR ALL

1) GOD HAS MADE HIS GRACE COMPLETELY OPEN

2) PAUL STATED THAT THE GRACE OF GOD “appeared to all men,”

3) WHICH MEANS THAT GOD HAS EXTENDED HIS CALL OF GRACE TO EVERYONE.

4) THERE IS NOT ONE SINGLE PERSON THAT GOD DOES NOT WANT TO SEE SAVED.

THAT’S GRACE!

“4 But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us,

5 Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;)”

II. GRACE LEADS TO ENLIGHTENMENT: v.12-13

A) GOD’S GRACE TEACHES US TO SAY NO!

B) SAY NO TO UNGODLINESS

C) SAY NO TO WORLDLY PASSIONS

D) TO LIVE:

1) SELFCONTROLLED

2) UPRIGHT

3) GODLY LIVES

E) GRACE OPENS THE DOOR TO ENLIGHTENMENT

1) GOD’S GRACE GIVES US DISCIPLINE

2) GOD’S GRACE HELPS US TO LIVE A LIFE THAT BRINGS GLORY AND HONOR TO HIM

3) GOD’S GRACE GIVES DIRECTION

F) GRACE BRINGS HOPE

“Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world;

13 Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ;”

III. GRACE LEADS TO EMPOWERMENT: v.14-15

“Who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works.

These things speak, and exhort, and rebuke with all authority. Let no man despise thee.”

A) THE GRACE OF GOD BRINGS US REDEMPTION

1) WE WERE SLAVES TO OUR OWN SELF

2) JESUS BOUGHT US TO SET US FREE

B) THE GRACE OF GOD BRINGS US PURIFICATION

1) THROUGH JESUS WE ARE CLEANSED

C) THE GRACE OF GOD BRINGS US PURPOSE

1) GRACE GIVES US A PLACE WITH GOD

“4 But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us,

5 Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;)”

6 And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus:”

WE ARE GOD’S PEOPLE: BY GOD’S GRACE WE BECOME HIS OWN SPECIAL PEOPL!

CONCLUSION:

A) ALL THAT GOD HAS GIVEN TO US IS BY HIS GRACE.

B) HIS GRACE GIVES US WHAT WE NEED AND NOT WHAT WE DESERVE.

C) TODAY IS THE DAY TO ADMIT THE SIMPLE FACT THAT YOU ARE IN NEED OF GOD’S GRACE

D) AND HE WILL POUR IT INTO YOUR LIFE.
