Jeremiah 29:11

Jeremiah 29:11

“For I know the plans I have for you, says the LORD, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope.” (RSV)

God had interest on our future, He care about our future, Sometimes the problem is we are the one who don’t have any interest on our own future. Sometimes someone can be so ignorant about his future, until he is in trouble.

Today I’m going to share with you 5 simple, life-changing principles that I learn in my life, how to have a good, welfare, and full of hope kind of future.

1. Have a Purpose in Life, and Focus on it

Everyone must have first a purpose in life, if they want to be success. For someone the purpose might be changing a bad habits in his/her life; some of you might make a job done, etc.

Why? Because without a purpose in our life will be boring. But this is a short-term kind of purpose. But beside short time, we also have long-term kind of purpose. What is that? To glorify God. We are His partners, the Bible said, for what? To be together with God and accomplishing His great purpose in our life.

Having a purpose is good, but keep focusing it is better. Many people might have a purpose in their life, but they don’t have a focus on it. For example: Someone work so hurt, so he can have much-much money. Why? You may ask. “Oh, I want to have much money, so my family can be happy. My wife don’t have work so hard, my kids can have a good education, etc…” But how ironic 2 years from that time, that person becomes a rich man, BUT he have a conflict with his wife, his children become drug addict. Divorce with his wife. Does that man get what he wants? He gets the money for sure, but he lost his purpose in life.

If you have a God-given purpose in your life, focus it! Don’t get distracted!

Be focus on your future, and live today as a preparation for tomorrow.

Our being today is the result of our act in the past, and what we do today will be determining who we are in the future.

Matthew 6:22, “The light of the body is the eye: if therefore thine eye be single, thy whole body shall be full of light.” (RSV)

John 1:4, says: “In him was life; and the life was the light of men.”

Let me paraphrase Matthew 6:22, “if you want a good life (light = life of men), you must have a single minded (have a focus in your life)”

Don’t just live as the days goes by, but live a life that have a purpose. Driven by the purpose.

1 Corinthians 9:24-25, “Know ye not that they which run in a race run all, but one receiveth the prize? So run, that ye may obtain. And every man that striveth for the mastery is temperate in all things. Now they do it to obtain a corruptible crown; but we an incorruptible.”

God didn’t call us just to run in a race, He called us to win the race! Get your prize! Have a good life, a welfare future! Fight for your good life in the future with God! Have a purpose and make it become reality in your life!

There will be a storm in your life, but you can make it. There will be a “giant-size Jericho wall” as an obstacle between you and God’s plan for your life, but you can win this battle; because Jesus has won the war!

Have a God-size of dream. Get a bigger vision. And fight for it!

2. Excited Life (Excitement is a muscle for your soul)

When you want to run, you will need a good muscle. Any activity requires muscles. When we don’t get excited for what we do, we will not have strength to accomplish it. If you want to be success (success mean you accomplish your purpose), you must be excited with your life. If not you will be quit in the middle of the race.

More than that, you can’t be a leader, if you not excited with your life. How can people going to follow your life, if you don’t to happy with it?

Jesus always excited with His love. He just like a hungry man who sees plenty of food, when He want to do His Father’s job. All of us like to eat, don’t we? Eating can be so great time for some of us.

John 4:34, “Jesus saith unto them, My meat is to do the will of him that sent me, and to finish his work.”

John 6:27, “Labour not for the meat which perisheth, but for that meat which endureth unto everlasting life, which the Son of man shall give unto you: for him hath God the Father sealed. ”

And also, our relationship with God, must be exciting time for each one of us. Psalms 42:1, “As the hart panteth after the water brooks, so panteth my soul after thee, O God.”

If we want to keep a good relationship with God, we must excited with Him. When we spend time with Him, it must be a “time of refreshing”.

3. Know yourself and Be yourself

(Knowing your own strength and weaknesses will lead us to the right goal)

People who knew themselves, is a people who have a sense of destiny.

Many times, our strength can be our greatest weaknesses.

John Maxwell gave us 2 kinds of weaknesses: 1) weaknesses in the area of skill and ability (which you don’t have to work it out); 2) weaknesses in the area of attitude, discipline, and relationship. This kind of weaknesses must have our biggest attention to work it out.

Don’t try to be someone else. “The best thing you can be is a bad copy!” Just be yourself. Many people shame for what they are, they social status, they family, etc.

The circumstances we have in our life is one of the greatest reasons why we want to be like someone else. Our disappointment toward the things that happen around us always make us easier to blame on it than to blame on me. BUT, the good news is: it is not the circumstances, IT US! We are the one must put to blame on; why? Because we do not dare to do anything about it! We are called to change the reality!

Genesis 50:20, “As for you, you meant evil against me; but God meant it for good, to bring it about that many people should be kept alive, as they are today.”

4. Maximize your potential (An excellent spirit is an attitude of a person who have purpose in his life)

We must have what the bible called as an excellent spirit. An excellent spirit is a person who do the best with all he got! Maximizing our potential!

Don’t just live day by day, ‘till the death do us apart. What “life” means? Life means: meaningful life. As long as you doesn’t make your life meaningful, you not live at all, you just exist!

Hebrew 11:4, “By faith Abel offered unto God a more excellent sacrifice than Cain, by which he obtained witness that he was righteous, God testifying of his gifts: and by it he being dead yet speaketh.”

Even God love to except a more excellent sacrifice. That is the biggest different between Cain and Abel. How about you?

I’m afraid many of our, so-called, “sacrifice”, not been accepted by God in the way we expected. Check your worship, your service, and your offerings; did you give it by the mean of duty or spirit of excellent?

5. Finding your self-identity

(Finding your own identity is primarily requirement to begins your journey of purpose-driven life)

You can find your purpose in life, when you can find who are you, why I am here in this place and time, what is God’s anointing over me, etc.

You might know that 4 basic principles, I said earlier, but as long as you can’t find your true identity (in Christ), you can’t begin your true journey. A healthy self-identity will build for us a healthy relationship. A healthy relationship will lead us to a healthy self-acceptance. A healthy self-acceptance will give to us a healthy self-actualization. A self-actualization will take us to a healthy and true success in life.

Please understand me, when I’m saying about success, I don’t mean getting richer. That is a narrow definition of success. Success is achieving your purpose!

Don’t let your bitterness in the past hold you far from your success in the future!

Ending:

Now you are in the end of the MAP! You need to walk through all the way of success, by your own self. You are responsibility for your own success. God will prepare an enable you, people who love you will encourage, but you! Yourself! Need to walk on that road step by step… and every step is a miracle from God!

Blessings!
