Summary: Am I fitting into God’s PLAN

Psalms 37:23 KJV the steps of a good man are ordered by the LORD: and he delighteth in his way.

What is God’s Purpose?

Luke 19:10 KJV For the Son of man is come to seek and to save that which was lost.

2 Peter 3:9 KJV The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.

If God’s purpose is the salvation of the world. Then my goal should be the same. Lead those that are lost to the one that will save them.

Regardless of what you may know or don’t know about your future, one thing is certain: you are intended to contribute to the good plan of God.

How exactly do I contribute? Do I have a specific assignment? We can only answer that question by asking ourselves three questions.

What are my Longings?

This question might surprise you. Perhaps you thought that your longings had nothing to do with keeping your life on track.

Do I long for things of this world, or things pertaining to the kingdom of heaven. Now don’t get me wrong, monetary things are nice. But do they become your focal point.

When we submit to God’s plan, we can trust our desires.

What do you long to do?

What brings you joy?

What gives you satisfaction?

Ephesians 2:10 KJV For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.

You are a custom design. Tailor made. The longings of your heart should not be ignored, they should be consulted.

Psalms 139:13-16 KJV For thou hast possessed my reins: thou hast covered me in my mother’s womb. (14) I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvellous are thy works; and that my soul knoweth right well. (15) My substance was not hid from thee, when I was made in secret, and curiously wrought in the lowest parts of the earth. (16) Thine eyes did see my substance, yet being unperfect; and in thy book all my members were written, which in continuance were fashioned, when as yet there was none of them.

Be careful though. Don’t consider your desires without considering your skills.

What are my Abilities?

There are some things we want to do, but just aren’t equipped to accomplish. For example, some may have the desire sing. But some are what you might call prison singers. Never on key and behind a few bars.

Romans 12:3 KJV For I say, through the grace given unto me, to every man that is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think; but to think soberly, according as God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith.

Have a sane estimate of your capabilities. Know your strengths. Know your weaknesses. When you teach, do people listen?

When you lead, do people follow?

When you administer, do things change?

Identify your strengths, and then ... major in them. Take a few irons out of the fire. Failing to focus on your strengths may be preventing you from doing a unique task God has called you to do.

Am I serving God Now?

We can learn a lot from the little bit of information of the early years of Jesus.

Luke 2:49 KJV And he said unto them, How is it that ye sought me? wist ye not that I must be about my Father’s business?

As a young boy, He knows. But He did not run right out and recruit disciples. Jesus did not call the apostles.

Jesus went home and learned the family business. That is what should be done.

Am I serving God at home. Love your family.
