Power of Blood Covenants

I’m going to share with us briefly, on the Power of Blood Covenants.

I’ll take the scriptures from Hebrews chapter 10 verses 19-22

"Having therefore, brethren, boldness to enter into the holiest by the blood of Jesus,

By a new and living way, which he hath consecrated for us, through the veil, that is to say, his flesh; And having an high priest over the house of God; Let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience, and our bodies washed with pure water.

I’m going to narrow myself to the power of blood covenants as it pertains to our walk with God.

The scripture is saying to us in Isaiah chapter 55. It says Call upon God while he is near, draw near while God may still be found. One thing that constitutes the major challenge in our Christian faith is the need for contacting God. The journey to the presence of God is the sum total of all we are engaged in, in our Christian life. It is represented by the tabernacle experience. The journey begins on the outer court, through the holy place to the holy of holies. Our great need is for boldness to advance towards that awesome dreadful throne room where His unmistakable presence dwells. Now, this is so important because we are all tired of substitution gods. We are all tired of people telling us how or what the true God looks like. He has been presented as a Santa Claus to some people, that disguised figure that children go to see at Christmas and they all come out with gifts and different opinions of him. The Santa Claus arena generally creates an atmosphere of curiosity that causes others to restlessly want to see him and sometimes the queue is so long that some kids can’t wait long enough to see and touch him and so they make do with other people’s impression of him.

The point is this; the New Testament prohibits us from dwelling on other people’s experience. Each person is required to make direct contact with the man on the throne. The only element that makes this direct access possible is the blood. Because of how essential this requirement is, several barriers had to be crushed and all temporary and inferior elements that had been in use from the Old Testament time had to be swept away only the blood could answer all of the questions that stood between mankind and real life.

We journey through the new and the living way cruising on the strength of the blood. Even when we arrive at the throne, we do not have a voice but that of the blood. The blood sprinkled upon the Mercy Seat is gets us the audience of God. The blood covenant is so central to the Christian faith for reasons we could give different explanations for, we have so much shyed away from things that have to do with blood and left those things for the occult or world of mysticism, for the idol worshipers, for those who want to intimidate us by having to deal with demons. Those of us, who have the background of idolatry, know quite a bit about blood matters. When you have to appease the gods, when you have to appease your neighbors, when you want to pave way for yourself, there is so much demand on blood. These were all stolen from the kingdom of God and what we are focusing on in this message has to do with the place of this blood in the covenant that is in force in our lives. From the little we know about the powers of darkness and occultism, we learn that the purer the blood, the greater the power that is derived from the sacrifice. When people wanted to sacrifice innocent blood, if it has to do with animals, they give you prescriptions/requirements that simulate God’s standard. "A lamb without blemish, a day-old, a month-old, a year old, whatever it is, it has to do with making sure that the animal is pure so that the life of it, which will be on the altar, will carry so much power. It is that purest blood which the world could never come up with that we have in Christ. When the Lord was instituting the Holy Communion at the last supper, he took that fruit of the vine and he said to them: "This is my blood in the new covenant which has been shed for you." Now, there is power in that blood. It’s unfortunate that the religious world, aided by those who came into the faith from idolatrous background, has become so deceived and has reduced this experience to mere ritual. For many of us now, when we use the blood, we use it as if it is a talisman. We do not appropriate what the blood had accomplished. It’s like at every point, we are sending the blood on a fresh errand, to demolish some things that have not been demolished. Now, that quality of ignorance will constitute a hindrance. I have ministered deliverance on some people and some few folks who joined me said, ‘let us plead the blood on ourselves so that demons will not pounce on us,’ and I said ‘stop that nonsense, the demons know their level. There is a security line they cannot cross, it is the blood mark.

Whose blood are we talking about? I’m talking about the blood of the purest lamb that creation could ever relate with. I’m telling you this so that you know how that confers on you the covenant privilege before God and how it gives you a defense as you relate with men and principalities. That’s why our sister in her testimony could tell us that even if her uncle in the village is a wizard, she could step in with confidence, knowing she carries in her what will intimidate him. You know what the Lord told them in the Old Testament, He said the angel that comes around to kill will see the blood and he will pass over. Watch this carefully: In the Exodus account, God said they should kill that lamb of sacrifice, eat the meat, rub the blood on the doorposts and lintels of their houses and then they can go and sleep! While they are sleeping, the angel of death, the minister of death comes around, looking for whom to kill because it is the judgment that has been written that he is out to execute. When he gets to a house where the blood has been applied even with the people fast asleep, he passes over! I don’t know whether you have reasoned along that line before: that just seeing the blood, nothing else is speaking but the blood! I can imagine the blood saying ‘carry on, carry on, pass over this place.’ The blood speaks with power. Today, however, some of us cannot sleep even though the blood is on the lintel of our doorposts. Do you know why? It is because we do not know the power in the blood covenant. Let me give you an example of what it takes to get the blood out. When you shed blood, you have dealt with life. Leviticus tells us that the life of the flesh is in that liquid. And any time that life is speaking, it is speaking with authority behind creation. That’s why God frowns at anybody taking life carelessly or killing anybody at all because it is not in your power to create one. We can put together a dummy, but the issue of life is in the hands of God. The power in it has the backing of the God-head. The Bible says that it pleased the Father that in His Son, in this lamb, should the fulness of the God-head dwell.

The eternal blood has been shed to redeem us. It is so powerful that there is no force on earth or in heaven that can resist it. It was when that blood dropped on the ground at Golgotha that the veil in the temple was rent in two. The wall of partition that could not be broken for ages, Got shattered instantly from top to bottom. It has to do with the power of the blood. Now where do we belong? Where are we in this matter? Let’s look at Hebrews 13:20, "Now the God of peace that brought again from the dead our Lord Jesus, that great shepherd of the sheep, through the blood of the everlasting covenant."

That means, far beyond the scope of medical science, we are learning of a blood that will never clot. It does not solidify; it is always carrying the energy, always sustaining that life. When the blood is shed and it is connected to everlasting covenant, something is brought onto the surface. Ordinarily, the blood is locked up in the veins and arteries, but when it is released in the place of covenant, it is telling you that it’s been given liberty to exercise all of the power inherent in it. When it is out of you, the boundary of the powers becomes limitless. When you bring a sacrifice before God, He doesn’t hear anything about the sacrificing until the blood is let loose from the confine i.e. the flesh. Put a knife in the throat and the blood gushes out and then the limitations placed on that life (i.e. the blood) is removed. That life had so much power but it was limited so long as it was still being held by your flesh. When it is released on the altar, the power is made immeasurable, it is made to be boundless, and then it begins to draw from the unlimited supply of the giver of that life. When a person sacrifices to the point of laying down his life vis-à-vis shedding of his blood, it is in the same sense that Paul was writing about all - temptations and pressures of life - that you have not yet resisted to the shedding of your blood. Every covenant that has to do with blood supersedes any other thing you can do in your flesh. In the satanic order, they always demand for blood because it is a test of how serious you are. And when they reach the very peak, they ask for your own blood and if you are foolish enough to allow them take blood from you, it could be only a prick and a little drop comes out, that is an evidence of your life. Through that they can spiritually manipulate your life as they want and that is why we must be watchful of the agents of the devil in some hospitals.

The devil knows so much about blood right from the time he was with God, but now that we are in Christ, what God expects of us is to tap into the value of the everlasting covenant rooted in the blood. When God wanted to establish a covenant with Abraham, he introduced the covenant of circumcision, remember? What is Circumcision? Circumcision is the cutting of the foreskin of the most private part of the man, the realm of the power for reproduction; that is where God connects with and when the blood drops from there, you are eternally commissioned for productivity backed by the force of heaven. This is why the only people that lasted in the ministry of Jesus were those who went back to him after church service to ask him to explain the message to them in a way they will understand. He was saying that when you enter into a covenant that is based on blood, a covenant of life, there is always a strength that is greater than the one you had before you entered. But some of us somehow remain as we were before we entered the covenant. Do you know why? We do not understand the power in the blood. When the average man joins some satanic society most of which begin with an initiation ceremony that involves blood deals, he automatically becomes bold, courage mounts and he is ready to confront situations or people that he once feared.

Do you know what has happened to you after you stepped into the contract called the Blood of the Everlasting Covenant? When you begin to relate with Christ in the body of the new creation, you have entered the realm of decision-making over the entire universe. I don’t know how else to convey this. In my book, The Excellency of Wisdom, there was something I touched on: it was one of those books that as I began to write, it was blowing my mind. This issue of blood covenant has nothing to do with your body size, neither the size of your pocket or your physical height; it has to do with the person you are connected to. You see, when an army general sends you on a mission and you begin to drag your feet for fear of what a sergeant mighty say, the general feels insulted. It means you do not regard how highly placed the authority is; you do not know the difference between a general and a sergeant. Similarly, God feels insulted. When Jesus was shedding his blood, he was opening a door that every one of us had longed to enter but could not. He said,’ by that blood, he paved way to the holiest of all; and when the blood is taken to the most holy place by the high priest once in a year, it is not speaking for one person, it’s taking account of the entire nation and as that blood is sprinkled upon the Mercy Seat, God hears some definite messages.

When that blood is released on your account by your simply accepting Jesus, by you getting initiated into the order of Christ, it is expected that you just naturally assume a change of position. When you begin to talk, please let that confidence radiate. I pity any witch or wizard who comes to try me and they have tried in the past. In The Excellency of Wisdom, I was talking about giants and grasshoppers. The problem with the people of Israel entering the land of Canaan had nothing to do with the presence of giants; God had prepared their minds before, making them know that they were going to confront giants; people greater and mightier than themselves.

It was not a sudden discovery. It was simply a confirmation of what God had said. Now, the question is: Were they actually like grasshoppers before the giants? I believe they really were, comparing their physical strength, the limited experience they had gathered, (remember they had been in bondage for 430 years) they had lost confidence in themselves okay? The point I want to leave with you is this, the problem is not being a grasshopper, God deliberately wanted to use grasshoppers to embarrass giants. So what matters is the weapon that the grasshopper is holding. That is why some smart teenagers use toy guns to rob giants. They will make them lie down on the floor and stamp on them with toy gun.

Religion tells us that because everywhere is now stretched means that God would want you to turn back. NO! It’s the opposite that is the case. Now that the economy is bad and people cannot be trusted, this is the time for us to manifest,. Why? The blood speaks for us. It penetrates barriers. Someone will do something for you and say: " I don’t know why I’m doing this for you, I’m just dropping this…," It’s the covenant, the blood of the everlasting covenant speaks better things than the blood of Abel.

Why did Cain kill Abel? He did it so that nobody will hear his voice anymore. "This God that received your sacrifice, you won’t see him again, I will silence you." That was what Cain seemed to be saying.

Immediately he allowed the blood to come out, the boy was able to make more noise than when he was alive in the flesh. The more God stretches you, the better for you because the capacity you carry cannot be fully utilized in this flesh. That’s why when Daniel began to perform in Babylon, they marveled; ‘O king, what you are asking for cannot be obtained from men except those in whom the spirit of the gods dwell.’

That is the force of the everlasting covenant. It depends on the quality of your connection. I am pleading with you, if you can believe our earthly parents, why can’t you believe the most high God?

What is it that we know about blood? Why is it that we allow the unbelievers to process these things better than we do? I told them in one of our Holy Communion services that it is not only secret cult people that know how to drink blood; I said after Holy Communion, if you see me, you better fear because we have just come out of a covenant meal and we drank the purest blood in creation. I did not drink wine, I did not drink grape juice, I drank the blood of Jesus, period!

And that means a lot to anybody that has some knowledge of the occult world. Any occult man knows what it means when you say you just drank blood. He will spit fire in your face. There is nothing he can’t attempt after killing innocent souls and sucking their blood in secret. Where did he get the idea from? God of course! Why does the Bible say we should continue to do this ordinance of the holy communion? And as you do it, what do you show? The Lord’s death. The Lord’s death means removing the limitations of the flesh. That was why He was telling Peter that very soon, he was going to remove this limitation and Peter said: ‘Far be it from you; you will not die.’ Jesus felt: "Peter, you mean you will not allow this covenant blood to explode, is that what you are saying? Get thee behind me Satan. You do not savor, you do not approve, you do not support the things that be of God but the things that be of men, carnal dying nature.’ It’s all about getting them to understand the power of the blood covenant. The Lord Jesus was zealously and with joy, heading for the cross because that is when the blood will be released to do as much as it has been empowered and commissioned to do.

You are products of the blood covenant. You are born physically through the agency of blood. Blood and water came down when your mother gave birth to you. Spiritually speaking, it happens also. You must be born of water and of the blood. You remember that in the scriptures? The word said in

1 John 5:6 This is he that came by water and blood, even Jesus Christ; not by water only, but by water and blood. And it is the Spirit that beareth witness, because the Spirit is truth.

This is talking about Jesus, not the one that came by water alone, but the one that came by water and the blood. That’s the difference between the true Christ and the false christs.

I want to end this message by asking you to recommit yourself to this blood covenant and that is going to bring a turnaround in every area of your life that the devil has been messing around with. Look, the fact that you told the devil to get out and he is dragging his feet, does not mean that he is not going to obey you. Did you get that? You ask your child to go and fetch some water and he begins to complain and murmur, he must do it, otherwise, he will not eat. The problem is that when Satan is dragging his feet, we change our minds: ‘Okay Devil, don’t go again.’ Why? You prayed last week and the sickness is still there so you change you confession. You reverse the decree you had passed; you’ve messed up yourself! He will see the blood and he will pass over! Are there yokes that have been so stubborn? I’ve introduced to you today, in a fresh dimension, how powerful the blood covenant is, and that is the covenant that binds you and Christ. Because of that covenant, the man, Jesus is ready to go to any length to fight your battles. Recognize how powerful that weapon is. Don’t plead the blood as if you don’t have regard for the strength in it. Don’t plead the blood as if without your cooperation, without your power or without your pushing, that it cannot work. I want you to leave with the clear understanding that while you are even sleeping, the blood is working. Amen!!
