Summary: This sermons reminds us that our God is a perfect God who seeks friendship with imperfect humanity.

Introduction: This text is filled with possibilities. The fact that God the creator of the universe would seek friendship with man is incomprehensible. God our Banner. God the omnipotent. God the Omnipresent one. God the omniscience. God the Most High. God of the empty tomb. God our healer. God the covenant keeper. God who is a perfect fellowship within Himself. It is that God that calls Abraham His friend.

Thes essence of friendship with God is trifold:

A. The call to be Warriors.

B. The call to be Worshippers.

C. The call to be Wittnesses.

When God chooses a man, it involves 3 things:

A. Divine Choice.

B. Divine Covenant.

C. Divine Committment.

Abraham like us was not perfect but still chosen. How wonderful is our God! If God only would chose perfect men, "Where would that leave us?"

Let us consider the following concerning Abraham:

1. He welcome God into his daily life.

2. He withdrew himself from the world.

3. He worshipped God daily.

4. He wittnesses to others concerning the things of God.

5. He was willing to obey God at all costs.

6. He worried about the lost.

7. He waited on God faithfully.

Conclusion: It’s good to have a friend like Jesus.

He was Lazarus’s friend...

He was Moses’s friend...

He was the disciples friend...

If you’re obedient and saved, the Lord is your friend also. If you’re not saved, now is the time to accept Jesus as your friend. He is that friend that sticketh closer than a brother. He is that friend that loveth at all times.

May God Bless and Keep You.
