“The Start Of Something Beautiful!!!”
John 19:25-26
25. Now there stood by the cross of Jesus his mother, and his mother’s sister, Mary the wife of Cleophas, and Mary Magdalene.
26. When Jesus therefore saw his mother, and the disciple standing by, whom he loved, he saith unto his mother, Woman, behold thy son!
I. Now there stood by the cross of Jesus His mother
A. She could have been anywhere else especially when the hatred of the multitudes for her son is taken into consideration! She is not standing in the safest of surroundings, but, in her eyes, the dangers around her are not even enough to keep her away from her son!
B. Even though no one else may have believed in Him, she did without a shadow of a doubt! While everyone else was walking by, she took the time to stop and stand with Him in His condition, suffering, and shame!
II. and His mother’s sister
III. Mary the wife of Cleophas
(Matthew 27; 28; Mark 15; 16; Luke 24)
IV. and Mary Magdalene
A. This one is very special in that she may not have been part of the family, but because JESUS had actually met an awesome need in her life and successfully and totally did what no other man was even able to she was willing to take a stand at the cross to show also that she knew Him and was not afraid to let everyone know that she appreciated Him!
V. When Jesus therefore saw His mother
A. What did He sense that she was feeling at that time?
B. What was she thinking while looking upon Him?
VI. and the disciple standing by, whom He loved
VII. He saith unto His mother, Woman, behold thy son!
A. If there is anyone that we should be able to trust, it should be someone that we really love!
B. Before He spoke, she was His mother!
C. When He spoke, she became “Woman”!
D. After He spoke, she became the mother to the one that He loved!
