Where is the Lamb?
TEXT: Genesis 22:1-7
1 And it came to pass after these things, that God did tempt Abraham, and said unto him, Abraham: and he said, Behold, here I am.
2 And he said, Take now thy son, thine only son Isaac, whom thou lovest, and get thee into the land of Moriah; and offer him there for a burnt offering upon one of the mountains which I will tell thee of.
3 And Abraham rose up early in the morning, and saddled his ass, and took two of his young men with him, and Isaac his son, and clave the wood for the burnt offering, and rose up, and went unto the place of which God had told him.
4 Then on the third day Abraham lifted up his eyes, and saw the place afar off.
5 And Abraham said unto his young men, Abide ye here with the ass; and I and the lad will go yonder and worship, and come again to you.
6 And Abraham took the wood of the burnt offering, and laid it upon Isaac his son; and he took the fire in his hand, and a knife; and they went both of them together.
7 And Isaac spake unto Abraham his father, and said, My father: and he said, Here am I, my son. And he said, Behold the fire and the wood: but where is the lamb for a burnt offering?

Genesis 22:7 And Isaac spake unto Abraham his father, and said, My father: and he said, Here am I, my son. And he said, Behold the fire and the wood: but where is the lamb for a burnt offering?
“Where is the Lamb?”
1. It was a father’s sacrifice of his only son.
2. It was Moriah to Isaac and Mount Calvary to Immanuel.
3. Isaac reached his destination on the third day of his journey—Jesus began his awaiting that third day!
4. A lamb was the substitute for a man and the Lamb was the Substitute for mankind.
5. Isaac was the son of promise and Jesus was the Promised One.
6. Isaac sought to please his father and Jesus sought to please the Father.
7. Isaac bore his altar up the hill and Jesus bore his Cross.
8. Isaac willingly offered himself up in faith to his father—Jesus willingly offered himself up in faith to His.
9. The substitutionary lamb was caught in the thorns by his brow and the Lamb of God was pierced in his brow with the thorns of mockery.
10. Isaac was placed on the altar of sacrifice and delivered by God—Jesus was placed on His altar and was sacrificed unto God.

29 The next day John seeth Jesus coming unto him, and saith, Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world.
36 And looking upon Jesus as he walked, he saith, Behold the Lamb of God!
A. Sacrifice for God’s demand
B. Substitute for man’s downfall
C. Saviour for man’s demise

II. Pilate—BEHOLD THE MAN, His Pain
John 19:1-5
1 Then Pilate therefore took Jesus, and scourged him.
2 And the soldiers platted a crown of thorns, and put it on his head, and they put on him a purple robe,
3 And said, Hail, King of the Jews! and they smote him with their hands.
4 Pilate therefore went forth again, and saith unto them, Behold, I bring him forth to you, that ye may know that I find no fault in him.
5 Then came Jesus forth, wearing the crown of thorns, and the purple robe. And Pilate saith unto them, Behold the man!

IV. Himself—BEHOLD I STAND AT THE DOOR AND KNOCK…His Plan
Revelation 3:20 Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me.

B. To the Saint for Fellowship
POINT: Behold the Man Who is the Lamb Who was for sinners slain, He knocks at your heart door today!
