AT THE FORKS OF THE ROAD
WHICH WAY WILL YOU GO??
ACTS 24:19-27
I’d like to start tonight by saying that everyone
That’s here is on their way to Heaven!!
But I can’t! Did you Hear Me???
I CANT!!!!!
When you’re at THE FORKS OF THE ROAD
Which way will you go??
There’s two directions you can choose tonight
I pray that you’re making the right one!!
According to the scriptures tonight obviously
Not everyone here is saved!
And if you’re not saved then I think you’re
At the forks tonight and its about time to choose!
Bro. Danny wants you saved tonight!
And I want you saved tonight!
WE WANT TO GO TO HEAVEN AND
WE WANT TO TAKE EVERYBODY
WITH US THAT WE CAN!!!
But most of all tonight,
GJESUS CHRIST wants you to be saved!!!
In every persons life I think that WE’RE ALL
offered God’s totally free gift of salvation
At least once and if you’re like me,
God;
Just keeps working on ya and you get offered
Salvation Many many more times than once!!!!
Some of us will accept right away and
Others will keep denying - accepting Christ
As their personal Savior!!!
And they’ll keep on that path and they’re
headed straight to HELL
Here in the book of Acts many times Paul sits in
The Judgment seat.
And He’s standing for what he believes
And for He’s preaching the Gospel of Jesus
Christ!!!
In the 24th Chapter of Acts - Paul
Has already testified in front of Felix
And told of the false accusations that
Were against him
He was accused by the high priest and the
elders for stirring up trouble in the synagogues
and among the people.
And after several days had passed - Felix and
his Wife Drusilla had sent for the Apostle Paul
to hear him concerning the faith
So basically they sent for Paul and he got all
Wound up and preached to this man Felix and
his wife and his preaching put a state of
deep conviction in his heart!!!
ARE YOU WITH ME SO FAR???
And in VS 25 our reading tonight tells us
That Paul preached Righteousness and
Temperance and Judgment and
The Bible says: that Felix trembled
As He heard Paul preach the word of God!
I’ve been there, and
I’m sure you’ve all been there
His heart began to melt down
Conviction set in on his soul
The Holy Ghost began to start working
Him over from the top of his Head to the
Tip of his Toe!
HAVE YOU EVER BEEN THERE?????
Felix - just like you and me knew that
Paul was preaching nothing but the truth!
Now here was a man
Who was married to another man’s wife
The Name Felix within itself means pleasure
He was Licentious (or undisciplined behavior,
Especially a flagrant disregard of sexual restraints)
His passion didn’t have any reins
He had that attitude
You get all you can while you can
Eat drink and be merry
This man was nothing but a hell bound sinner
And Paul had the opportunity to preach to him
And he soaked it all in; BUT,
When it was all said and done
Felix let the devil keep him from accepting
Jesus Christ as his personal Savior and He
Didn’t get saved!!!!!
HOW MANY TIMES HAVE WE
SEEN THIS HAPPEN????
VS. 25 Says: Felix says
Go thy way for this time:
When I have a convenient season
I will call for thee!!!
People you better not be waiting for no
convenient time tonight!!!!!
If Jesus is knocking at your hearts door
You better let him in or you just might
Find yourself without him knocking anymore!
BRO. DANNY SENSED IN HIS SPIRIT THAT
WHEN HE RE-DEDICATED HIS LIFE
IT WAS HIS LAST CHANCE
HIS LAST CHANCE TO GET ON THAT
CHOO CHOO TRAIN FOR HEAVEN
YOU CAN’T GET SAVED PEOPLE
WHEN ITS CONVENIENT FOR YOU!
YOU BETTER LISTEN TO GOD
AND WHEN HE’S KNOCKING YOU
BETTER LET HIM IN!!!
YOU CAN’T GET SAVED WHEN YOU
THINK YOU’RE READY
YOUR MOMMY AND DADDY CAN’T
PRAY YOU THERE
AND YOUR PASTOR CAN’T PRAY YOU
THERE
AND YOUR AUNTS AND UNCLES
AND BROTHERS AND SISTERS
NOR ANYBODY ELSE CAN PRAY
YOU THERE!!!!
I’ve heard people say well I got stuff
To get straightened up before I can get saved
Or I’m just not ready right now
Or I’ll get saved when I get good and ready
Or I think I’m going to heaven cause
I’m a good person!!!
Or I don’t think I’m interested right now!!
In today’s world its sad how people react when
You give them an invitation to a Revival
or you give them a gospel tract
They’ll shove it right back at you and tell you
That they’re not interested!!
ONE OF THESE DAYS THEY’LL
BE INTERESTED!!!!!
WAL-MART HAS EVEN TOLD US THAT WE
CAN’T HAND OUT INVITATION’S TO TENT
REVIVALS AND WE HAVE TO STOP!!!!!
People have said Wendell I love your singing
But I can’t stand that preaching
Honey if you can’t stand it then that’s good
I’m doing something right!!!
IF I’M PERSICUTED FOR JESUS’ NAME
THEN I KNOW I’M DOIN SOMETHING
RIGHT!
JUST don’t wait until you’re ready!!!
2nd Corinthians 6:2 says;
for he saith, I have heard thee in a time accepted
and in the day of salvation have I succored thee
behold, now is the accepted time
behold now is the day of salvation!
Church it don’t get no plainer than that!!!!
NOW IS THE TIME PEOPLE!!!
Isaiah 55:6 says:
Seek ye the Lord while he may be found,
Call ye upon Him while He is near!!
But if you noticed in our reading this man’s
Wife Drusilla it mentioned that she was a
Jewess!
Even though she was by her first marriage
A member of the Herodian family
She was still a Jew
But she had forsaken her Jewish beliefs
She knew her lifestyle was wrong
She know that the Old Testament teaches her
That she’s wrong and living in sin
But listen;
When The Apostle Paul preached - our
Reading says that Felix trembled but it
Don’t say anything about her
I think that her heart was hardened from the truth
I think that her mind was reprobate
Oh people listen
If you ever get to the point that you hear the
Word of God and it don’t convict you or it
Don’t effect you in any way then you
Are in very sad shape and you are in very
Bad trouble because the Lord has stopped
Knocking at your hearts door!!!
YOU HAVE BECOME HARD HEARTED
The more you turn your back on God
And the more you reject the Truth of
God’s word
The less and less the truth will be
Able to convict your heart
JOHN 3:15 SAYS:
That whosoever believeth in him should not
Perish but have eternal life!!!
People eternal life means you’ll live
For ever and forever and forever
John 5:24 Jesus said:
Verily, verily, I say unto you
He that heareth my word, and believeth
On him that sent me
Hath everlasting life and shall not
Come into condemnation;
AND LISTEN TO THIS PART
BUT IS PASSED FROM DEATH
UNTO LIFE
There’s too many people today that
believe and I mean they honestly believe
that they Don’t have to pray
and they believe that
They don’t have to study God’s word
And they believe that they don’t have to
Go to church anywhere
And they think that they can shack up
With their boyfriends and girlfriends
And they think that they can hang out
At the bars and the honky tonks and
The Night clubs
And many folks today don’t believe that
A loving God won’t send them to this
Terrible place called hell
And they think they can run around
Drinking and cussing and pretty much
Do what ever they want and still
MAKE IT TO HEAVEN
Listen people IT AIN’T GONNA HAPPEN
And there is a place called heaven
And the bible says:
STRAIT IS THE GATE AND NARROW
IS THE WAY, which leadeth unto life
And few there be that find it
There is a place called hell
And the bible says:
Enter ye in at the strait gate
For wide is the gate, and broad is the way
That leadeth to destruction
AND LISTEN
And many there be which go in
Thereat!!!
People Jesus Christ is both
The GATE and the WAY to eternal life!!!
JOHN 14: JESUS SAYS:
I AM THE WAY THE TRUTH AND
THE LIFE
NO MAN COMETH TO THE FATHER
BUT BY ME
PEOPLE HE IS THE TRUTH AND THE LIFE
Jesus said in the book of John:
I am the resurrection, and the life
He that believeth in me Though he were
Dead Yet shall he live!!!
On over in chapter 26 of Acts
King Agrippa said Paul
Almost thou persuadest me to be a Christian
We all know that almost ain’t good enough
Almost saved is completely lost people
Almost saved is HELL BOUND
DO YOU WANT TO GO TO HELL???
NOT ME!!!!
I’M GOIN IN THAT STRAIT GATE!!!
AND I WANT TO TAKE YOU WITH ME!!
I HAVE A QUESTION FOR ALL OF YOU
THAT ISN’T SAVED!
WHATS KEEPING YOU FROM GETTING
SAVED??
WHATS HOLDING YOU BACK FROM
JESUS??
WHAT IS IT THAT YOU’RE HOLDING
ON TO THAT WILL KEEP YOU FROM
ETERNAL LIFE??
WHAT ARE YOU HOLDING ON TO THAT
WILL SEND YOU TO THAT DREADED
PLACE CALLED HELL???
THERE’S A FEW THINGS I’D LIKE TO
POINT OUT THAT COULD BE HOLDING
YOU BACK
AND THEN I’LL CLOSE
IS IT PRIDE?
PRIDE IS ONE OF THE BIGGEST SINS
PRIDE IS STRAIGHT FROM THE DEVIL
The bible says those who are not saved or
born again are the children of satan!
And another is PLEASURE
PLEASURE IS SOMETHING THAT A
LOT OF PEOPLE LOVE IN THIS WORLD
And its something else that’s straight from
The depth’s of Hell!!! and the devil
Pleasure isn’t something that’s gonna last forever
And it ain’t gonna get you go Heaven
The Bible says:
The pleasures of sin and this world will only last for a short season then comes judgment day
You may think your having pleasure today
In your life of sin
But when you’re suffering in the torments of
Hell you’ll wish that you would have served
Jesus Christ!!!
You’ll wish you had that free gift of
Salvation!!!
And people don’t let friends or family
Get in your way of serving God
So many times people will shrug off
The Lord because of
Family or friends - because they’re afraid
That they won’t speak to them again
Or they’ll think that they are Jesus Freaks
I’m happy I’m a Jesus Freak how bout you??
Matthew 10:37 says:
He that loveth father or mother more than
Me is not worthy of me: and he that loveth
Son or daughter more than me is not
Worthy of me!!!
People don’t let your past or your past sins
Or your past failures or anything else in
This world Stop you from serving the Lord
There’s nothing that you’ve done that’s
To bad!!!
There’s no action, no thought, no wrong,
NO SIN TO LARGE
That you can’t get forgiveness for!!!
Romans 10:9 says:
That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the
Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine
Heart that God hath raised him from the dead
Thou shalt be saved
For with the heart man believeth unto
righteousness; And with the mouth
confession is made unto salvation!!!!
Jesus paid the price for us at Calvary with
His precious blood!!!
Yes He paid the price but you must allow
Him to enter into your heart!!!
If you’ll repent tonight and begin to serve
Jesus Christ with all your heart
I promise you that you won’t regret it!!!
But you’ll have battles with the devil
He’ll be mad that you’re not serving him
Any more!!!
But just like that song
It’ll be worth it after all child!!!
John 3:16 says
For God so loved the world that He gave His
Only begotten son, that whosoever believeth in
Him should not perish But have everlasting life!!
