Sermon 305 – HOW IS ONE SAVED?

1. FATHER CHOOSES

~ Matthew 22:14 - "For many are invited, but few are chosen."

~ John 15:19 - If you belonged to the world, it would love you as its own. As it is, you do not belong to the world, but I have chosen you out of the world. That is why the world hates you.

~ James 2:5 - Listen, my dear brothers: Has not God chosen those who are poor in the eyes of the world to be rich in faith and to inherit the kingdom he promised those who love him?

~ 1 Peter 1:2a - who have been chosen according to the foreknowledge of God the Father, through the sanctifying work of the Spirit, for obedience to Jesus Christ and sprinkling by his blood:

2. FATHER DRAWS

~ John 6:44 - "No one can come to me unless the Father who sent me draws him, and I will raise him up at the last day.

~ John 6:65 - He went on to say, "This is why I told you that no one can come to me unless the Father has enabled him."

~ John 12:32 - But I, when I am lifted up from the earth, will draw all men to myself."

3. FATHER SENDS

~ John 16:7-8 - But I tell you the truth: It is for your good that I am going away. Unless I go away, the Counselor will not come to you; but if I go, I will send him to you. [8] When he comes, he will convict the world of guilt in regard to sin and righteousness and judgment:

~ 1 Cor. 2:14 - The man without the Spirit does not accept the things that come from the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him, and he cannot understand them, because they are spiritually discerned.

4. FATHER SAVES

~ Romans 10:10 - For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved.
