Is there something worse than going to Hell?
Is there something better than going to Heaven?
Right now you’re probably thinking what has
Blown out or short circuited in this hillbilly
preachers mind!!!
How could there be anything worse than going
To Hell???
Before you write me off listen to me for a little bit
And I’m gonna prove to you that there is something
Worse that Going to Hell!!
Then you are gonna be it total agreement with me
JEREMIAH 8:20-22
The harvest is past, the summer is ended, and we are not saved!
For the hurt of the daughter of my people, am I hurt;
I am black: astonishment hath taken hold on me.
Is there no balm in Gilead; is there no physician there?
Why then is not the health of the daughter of my people recovered??
MAY GOD ADD HIS BLESSING:
Jeremiah is overcome with grief for his people
As the passing of a harvest season that failed to produce fruit gives despair for the availability of food, so the passing days without repentance made destruction inevitable Jeremiah was dismayed and cried out for relief for his people because their sin wounds were incurable.
Here in this passage what we see is the judgment of God and would result in no harvest
HOW IS YOUR HARVEST WORK DOING TONIGHT AND WHERE IS IT GOING???
You should already know if you’re a Christian
That the harvest field is plentiful and needs laborers
Tonight Jeremiah is gonna be the comparison or the
Symbol if you will - of the Lost souls crying out
From the terrible place called Hell!!!
This crying over a lack of harvest is something that more and more farmers are saying because of changes in the weather!!
Have you ever worked a whole year on something and then in the end you have nothing to show for it
Because your crops couldn’t withstand the test of the frost or the test of the rain or the test of drought!
This is very similar to people’s lives today? when Jesus returns I fear that these lives ain’t gonna measure up to the tests!!!
The 1st VS. of our reading said
The harvest is past, the summer is ended, and we are not saved, is one that will undoubtedly be repeated many times in HELL by those who will weep and wail - that they passed by the opportunity to get saved and get right with God but they didn’t!!!
Summer is come, The Harvest is past and still
WE ARE NOT SAVED!!!
I think that’s what the rich man in the book of Luke was crying about - 2000 years ago and He’s still crying it today!! and He’ll still be crying it 2000 years from today!!!
AND FOREVER AND FOREVER AND FOREVER
And you will still ask, Preacher what is there that’s worse than going to HELL??
So what could be worse than goin to hell?
Goin to Hell and taking someone with you!
That’s what’s worse!!!!1
There was a backslided pastor who had to move out of this city because his 15 year old son had been laying out all night and hopelessly out of control
No doubt on drugs and luding throughout the city
And the former pastor was going to church about twice a year
And when he heard there was something worse than going to hell he nearly cried because he knew that not only would He go to hell but his young son also would go there!!!
I don’t want to see anybody go to hell and I certainly
Don’t want to them to take anybody with them!!
Couldn’t you just imagine hearing this Pastor’s young son crying to his dad in Hell
Daddy why didn’t you warn me about this place
Why didn’t you set a better example for me
Daddy why did you stop bringing me and Mom
To church???
If you don’t know Jesus tonight as your personal Lord and Savior think into the future for a minute
About a thousand years - This would be you speaking;
Summer is come, the harvest is past and
I’m doomed!!
And think about this
It maddens you double when you take someone
with you!!!
And you’ll be sayin – that preacher told me
O why, why didn’t I listen to him when I could’ve changed things!!!
I could be in Heaven right now
And remember the bible says
For it had been better for them not to have known the way of righteousness, than, after they have known it, to turn from the holy commandment delivered unto them!!
So listen very closely tonight
This hillbilly preacher has told you the way of righteousness!
Now its totally up to you which direction you take your soul!!!
I’m sure that there’s many a people in hell as we speak who’s cussin their parents, and their brothers and sisters and aunts and uncles and cousins for their poor example and their bad influence!!
And they’re no doubt,
Crying out WHY DIDN’T I LISTEN???
The power of influence is much greater than we can possibly imagine
Don’t you think that the rich man in the book of Luke had already figured out that he was a bad witness to his 5 brothers because he was the one that had set a bad example
He was horrified and scared that his brothers would end up there with him in Hell!!
So you see there is something worse than going to hell
And that’s going to hell and taking someone with you!
People you don’t have to go to this place tonight
It wasn’t even created for you
It was made for satan and his fallen angels
The word hell is used so loosely today and even though most of them are negative, people still
throw this terrible place around like its no big deal
or maybe they think it don’t really exist
people let me tell you something right now
hell is a real place!!
Hell is a horrible place And it does exist!!!
Lots of people today even joke about hell
Some might say that they don’t mind going to hell
Or they want to go cause that’s where their friends
And when they get there their gonna party hardy
People who talk about hell like this don’t have any idea what hell is really like
And probably a whole lot of em don’t even care!!
Otherwise they’d know that hell is not a place
To be joking about!!!
The truth of the matter is
About one second in hell and it wouldn’t be
Somewhere to be joking about!!
YOU ALL WOULD BE READY TO BE SOMEWHERE ELSE!!
Some un-informed people will try to believe themselves or make you believe
That hell is just a state of mind
And there’s others that think we are in hell now!
And there’s others that believe in hell but they
Think that they wont go there and if they do they
Think that if you go there you’ll just be incinerated
And then that’s all there is to it!!!
THIS ISN’T WHAT THE BIBLE TEACHES US!!
God’s word always speaks of hell as a very literal place
Filled with literal people
And its for a literal eternity!!!
I know that I could have found something more
Pleasant to speak about tonight but
Someone here needs to hear this!!!
HELL IS REAL PEOPLE
HELL IS HOT
HELL IS FOREVER
HELL IS HORRIBLE
HELL IS ALL THE BAD THINGS THAT
YOU COULD HAVE EVER POSSIBLY
IMAGINED
HELL IS AN ETERNAL ASSOCIATION WITH THE WICKED OF ALL AGES
HELL IS ETERNAL DEATH
HELL IS UNSPEAKABLE SORROW
HELL IS AN UNQUENCHABLE FLAME OF FIRE
I am a faithful servant to God tonight
And if I’m gonna be faithful
I gotta tell you the truth
And nothing but the truth!!!
And the Truth is,
If you’re a Christian you already know the pleasant
Parts that I could’ve spoke on here tonight
But if you’re a sinner you need to hear about this
Bad stuff right along with the good stuff!!
I could preach on gates of pearl all night long
And walls of Jasper all night
And Streets of Pure Gold all night
And not to mention an ever flowing
River of Life!!!
And I could get excited and get in the spirit
And run the isles and jump up and down and shout Glory Hallelujah
But would that get your attention as fast as
This terrible place called hell tonight??
Christ set the example for me and He set it for you tonight - for example
He preached during his earthly ministry about
This horrible place called hell more
Than He preached on Heaven!
This message heard by a Believer or a Christian tonight,
Will just help them in their walk as they continue
Forward on their journey toward Heaven
And it’ll help them to make sure they stay prayed up
And ready to fly at the sound of that trumpet!!
And they’ll make sure that they don’t get pointed
In the wrong direction!!
This message if you’re a sinner will hopefully
Help you to determine that you need to make a
Change in your lives
Hopefully you will learn that you need to give
your hearts to Jesus and live for Him and then
you’ll know that this is your escape from
This horrible place called Hell!!!!
We have to do and say everything we can to
Sinners and help them to know about this horrible
Place called hell!!!
We have to steer them clear from this terrible
Place before its everlasting to late!!!
And I’m afraid for the sinners that
Everlasting - To late ain’t that far off !
How many sinners do you know tonight?
How many times have you told them about
This place called hell??
Isaiah 5:14 says:
Therefore hell hath enlarged herself and opened
her mouth without measure!!
Proverbs 27:20 says:
Hell and destruction are never full
So the eyes of man are never satisfied!!
Right here two separate books in the bible
Speak very much the same of this horrible place
Called hell
John 3:16 says
For God so loved the world that he gave his
Only begotten son that whosoever believeth
In him should not perish
But have everlasting life!!
Jesus died tonight people so you don’t have to
Go to this terrible place called hell
Rev. 20:12 says:
And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened and another book was opened which is the book of life and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works!
20:15 says
and whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire!!
If you don’t know Jesus Christ tonight
If you don’t have Him living in your heart
If you haven’t confessed your sins with your mouth
This is what you have to look forward to sinners!
If you end up in this place called hell
Your gonna remember your life just like the
Rich man in the book of Luke
Your gonna remember others in your life that are
Lost just like you were’
Your gonna remember every mean and ungodly thing you ever did in your life
Your gonna remember the times you lied
Your gonna remember the times you cheated
Your gonna remember those times you hated
And you’ll remember when you lusted
Your gonna remember the face of every person
Who tried to witness to you about Jesus;
Your gonna remember every message every preacher
Ever preached about repentance and salvation;
Your gonna remember every time that the Holy Spirit pled with you to take that first step down the isle
To the altar and make your decision for Christ
You’re gonna be haunted in hell throughout
Eternity, of all the memories and missed opportunities you had to receive Christ
As your personal Savior!!!
BUT ITS GONNA BE TO LATE TO REPENT WHEN YOU’RE IN THIS HORRIBLE PLACE
CALLED HELL!!!
If you reject Jesus here on this earth; you have only one other Alternative and that’s to suffer God’s wrath
Upon your sin!!!
And that means eternal death in hell!!!
Christians think of what great soul winners you’d
Be if you only had to spend just a few seconds
In this place called hell!!!
Sinners you’d run not walk to the alter to ask
God to please forgive you of your sins
If you only had to spend a few seconds in hell!!
Matthew chapter 13 says
And shall cast them into a furnace of fire; there shall be wailing and gnashing of teeth.
This means terrible agony and unbearable pain
Revelation chapter 14 says
And the smoke of their torment ascendeth up forever and ever; and they have no rest day nor night!!!
If you truly believed tonight that Jesus would
Come back tomorrow
What a difference there would be in your life
And you wouldn’t be joking about this place
Called Hell
Hell is real tonight folks
A preacher once said
If we had more preaching on Hell
Then there would be less of it in our
Communities!!!
So do you know what’s worse than going to hell
