IS YOUR SPIRIT ALIVE?
ROMANS CHAPTER 8:1-18
The Church today is One Body of Believers
Which is the Body of Christ
We have one spirit! –Which is the Holy Spirit
We have one hope!!! Which is Salvation
We have one Lord! – Which is Jesus Christ
We have one Faith! – Which is Christianity
And I ain’t talking about denomination either!!
I don’t believe in preaching denomination!!
We have one baptism! – Which we are buried
With Christ – The old Man is Dead and We are a
New Creation!!
We have one God! – Which is the Father of us All
Above all - through all - and In us All!!
GALATIANS 5:16 SAYS
This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh.
If you are walking in the spirit then you are living
In the spirit.
Many manuscripts take out – who walk not after
The flesh, But after the Spirit!!!!
Christians you are to be living continuously
in the spirit!!!
We have to believe that the spirit is within us
And Been sent to us by God!!! And it has been!!!
We have to submit our desires to those of the spirit!!
The bible says:
Being made free from sin you became servants of
Righteousness!!!
When you were a servant of sin you were
Free from righteousness!!!!!
The Bible says:
For the wages of sin is death
But the Gift of God is Eternal Life
Through Jesus Christ our Lord!!!!!
Children we don’t have just one function
Among us!!!
We are just a little spoke in the great big wheel!!
Vs. 9 in our reading says: if any man have not
the Spirit of Christ, he is none of His!!!
If you are lacking in the spirit then I have a HOT NEWS FLASH FOR YOU you ain’t saved!!!!
The holy spirit abides in all of us that are saved!!!
ACTS 13:39 SAYS:
And by him all that believe are justified from all things, from which ye could not be justified by the law of Moses!
The Law has been called weak, but, there’s nothing wrong with the law - but the presence of sin
renders believers powerless to follow the
demands of the law!!
I have met so many people today who wonder if their Faith Is real or not!!!
People sometimes struggle to believe that they could
truly be a child of God!
If you try and try to keep the Christian faith and
Continue to fail then you are just living life very
Similar to the apostle Paul, And our only
hope is if God will give us a little help In
overcoming our weaknesses!! Everyone has
Moments of weakness in their lives!!!
We have to realize that there is no way that we
Can make this journey alone!!!
Only Jesus can help us, and all we gotta do is ask!
GALATIANS 3:13 SAYS:
Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us; for it is written
Cursed is everyone that hangeth on a tree!!
Have you ever asked yourself if You’re good
Enough for God??
If you have then you asked yourself the wrong question. Your question should be,
Am I in Jesus Christ?
Am I one of his followers?
Is his Holy Spirit In Me?
If we are in Jesus then we are free from the law
Of Sin and Death!!!!!
Now that should be something to get excited about!!
I think that too many times people see themselves as failures because of their lack of Godliness or the lack of spirituality. They feel like Low Life’s!!
They feel like there’s nothing they can do to live up to the standard they have in their minds of being a
Christian.
This is The ole devil himself talking to you!!!
They too often compare themselves to everyone else.
You can’t just always be all tore up thinking that
You ain’t accepted Or try to compare yourselves
To your Neighbor, or your Boss, or your Pastor!
Be positive. Be Proud.
Always be ready to say Something good for God!!!!
Verse one in our reading tells us that there is no
Condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus.
God is the one with all wisdom, He knows what we need to make ourselves acceptable to Him!
God knows that We could never meet his standards
On our own!! We have to have his help!!!!
God already knew that He had to send Jesus to
Die on the cross in order to satisfy the
Requirements of the Law and silence the demands.
So God sent his only Son Jesus Christ in Human form,
Then Jesus died for us on the cross And after he ascended back to Heaven He left us the comforter (The Holy Ghost)!!!!!
To dwell within us and now we no longer walk according to the flesh.
We walk according to the spirit!! AMEN!
Then the devil makes you Start comparing again we’ll automatically think,
Do we pray as much As they do?
Or are we as good as they are,
Or are we as obedient as they are? A
re we as joyful as they are?
Do we express our faith as much or do we get as
Excited as they do?
Or how do we know whether we have the
Holy Spirit within us or not?
Then here comes ole devil again, another battle,
Then our flesh tells us we don’t match up or
We ain’t good enough!!! I can tell you folks,
YOU ARE GOOD ENOUGH!!!
ALL that you need to DO IS get fired up
for God!!!! Don’t listen to the devil!! Just
say get thee hence satan!!
Don’t compare yourselves to anyone else
Worship God the way that you feel!!!
And the main thing is to worship God!!!
If you feel like running up and down the isle
then run it!!!!
Or if you feel like testifying the JUST DO IT!!
And when God decides you are ready for the
Ultimate in a Faith experience, You’ll have it!!!
Don’t judge your faith!!!!
That’s God’s Job!!!
Remember that your salvation doesn’t revolve
around How others worship, or it doesn’t revolve around your performance, It revolves around the work of Jesus!!! And it depends on the Grace of God!! The bible says that Christ was in the likeness
of sinful flesh, So Christ was truly human, but
sin was not possible for him!!
Jesus said that He would give the Holy Spirit to
Everyone who would believe in Him!!!
So here’s a good question for yourself,
DO YOU BELIEVE IN JESUS??
DO YOU BELIEVE JESUS IS THE SON OF GOD?
DO YOU BELIEVE THAT JESUS DIED
AND ROSE AGAIN???
DO YOU BELIEVE THAT HIM DYING ON THE CROSS MAKES IT POSSIBLE FOR YOUR SINS
TO BE FORGIVEN??
ARE YOU WILLING TO LET HIM BE THE
LORD OF YOUR LIFE???
If you can say yes to these questions then I can promise you that He has kept His promise!!!
If you are not in the flesh you are in the spirit!!
Carnally minded is being dominated by a
sinful nature!!!
Spiritually minded is being controlled by the
Holy Spirit!!!
If you have any doubt about serving God
Just give yourself this little test!!
Do you have an inner desire to follow and obey God?
Are you dis-satisfied with your failure’s in doing
What you know God wants from you??
This is God’s Holy Spirit pruning and shaping you
For the way He wants you to live!!!!
It’s God’s Holy Spirit bearing witness with our spirit
Re-assuring us that we are God’s Children!!!!
So stop testing yourself and putting yourself down
And thinking that you’re a failure or you’re worthless
Or you’re not worthy –
CAUSE YOU ARE WORTHY!!
You’re no longer driven by sin!!!!
You’re under control of the Holy Spirit!!!!!
And your minds are now set on the spirit.
Now when you fail you are guided back to
God in repentance by the Holy Spirit!!!!!
Now you are starting to live along spiritual lines
And not fleshly lines!!!!!
The Spirit continuously brings us back to God!!
ROMANS 6:4 SAYS:
Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death; that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life!!!!
It means that we are Children of God!!!!!
And We are heirs of God and Joint Heirs with
Jesus Christ.
Apostle Paul reminds us that if we are heirs with
Christ that We might also join Him in his suffering
As well as in his Glory!!!!
But The small amount of suffering we could
Experience in this life is nothing to compare to the
Glory that God will give us in the end!!!!!
REMEMBER - Galatians: 5:22 says;
But the fruit of the Spirit is
Love, Joy, Peace, Long-suffering, Gentleness,
Goodness, Faith, Meekness, Temperance:
Against such there is no law
Children if you have these fruits, you are surely
A Child of The King of Kings and Lord of Lords!
Our Spirit is continuously putting to death the deeds of our old bodies, so that in the end we will have
Eternal life and not Eternal DEATH!!!!
1st John 1:7 says:
but if we walk in the light as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son Cleanseth us from all sin!!!!
To walk in the light is to live free from
The bondage of sin
And the Blood is the antidote or the ultimate
Defense against Sin’s presence and power!!
JOHN 3:6 SAYS:
That which is born of the flesh is flesh;
and that which is born of the Spirit is Spirit!!
IS YOUR SPIRIT ALIVE TONIGHT?
Its human nature to want to be approved of
And To be well liked in society! But I can tell you that Society don’t mean nothing!!
But we to often set our feelings on what someone
Else thinks of us!!!
If you want to be well liked or if you want to
Set your feelings on something
Turn it all over to God tonight!!!!!
I think its about time We stop trying to please everybody around Us - and I think its about
time we start trying to please God!!!!

THE BIBLE SAYS:
Whosoever therefore will be a friend of the
world is the enemy of God!!!
I ain’t tryin to be no enemy of God’s tonight
are you??
GALATIANS 6:8 SAYS:
For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life Everlasting!!!!
In the First verse of our reading tonight it said:
When you receive Christ as your personal Savior
This gives you freedom from Condemnation.
And Eternal Life!!!!!
But un-leashes a new WAR----
A NEW WAR AGAINST SIN! And a new war against the devil!!
If you like a fight just give your life over to Jesus
And you ain’t never seen no fight like your fixin
To have!!
1ST CORINTHIANS 2:14 SAYS:
But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned!!!
An un-spiritual man can’t understand the Word of God. He wont let the truth in his heart because
Spiritual discernment is only revealed by the
Holy Spirit!!!
It is beyond being understood by the Natural Man!!
Are you in the natural tonight or is your spirit living with JESUS CHRIST???
Where Do you want to spend eternity??
Do you know Jesus Christ tonight???
Do you want to spend it in Heaven??
I can lead you to the River of Eternal Life Tonight!!!
Come to this Alter and Let Jesus have your life!!
Or don’t come and keep going on toward the widening gate that’s getting wider as we speak!!
The Bible says on the Path to Heaven the gate is strait and narrow is the way and few find it!!!
I’m finding it tonight, but I don’t know about you!!!
Cause I can’t find it for you, you have to find it!
Was you a Christian but you have fallen by
The wayside tonight???
Anything you could possibly need is only a
few steps away!!
Come on to the alter and re-dedicate your Life
To Jesus tonight!!!!!
EPHESIANS 1:13 SAYS:
In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard
The word of truth, the gospel of your salvation:
In whom also after that ye believed, ye were
Sealed with that holy Spirit of Promise!!
If you believe tonight then you are sealed!!
Do you have family or friends that need
to find Jesus???
Do you have Children or Grandchildren that
needs to give their Hearts to Jesus???
Jesus said in the book of Acts:
To open their eyes, and to turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of satan unto God,
That they may receive forgiveness of sins, and
Inheritance among them which are sanctified by
Faith that is in Me!!!
Lets gather around these alters and pray that
God will deliver them!!!!
Call out their Names to the Lord
JOHN 6:44 SAYS
No man can come to me except The Father
Which hath sent me, Draw Him
And I will raise him up at the last day!!
Pray the harvest to be ripe:
Matt 9:38 says:
Pray Ye therefore the Lord of the Harvest that
He will send forth laborers into his harvest!!
Pray for the Lord to open the door of Faith
In vs. 10 tonight it said The Body is Dead
Our mortal bodies are dead or subject to death
And also subject to the temptation of sin!
Spirit tonight - church is life!
Our bodies will be quickened – made alive
When we are resurrected we’ll receive new
Physical forms just as Jesus Christ did
Acts 14:27 says:
And when they were come, and had gathered
The Church together, they rehearsed all that
God had done with them, and how He had
Opened the door of Faith unto the Gentiles
Pray to open minds and Pray that the Gospel
Wont be Hid.
2nd Corinth 4:3 & 4 Says:
But if our Gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost
In whom the God of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ who is the image of God,
Should shine unto them!!!!!
LETS PRAY
Our Heavenly Father – We pray tonight Lord that you’ll touch our children and grandchildren.
We pray Father that you’ll open their eyes from the darkness.
Turn them Lord from the power of satan.
We pray that they’ll receive forgiveness for
their sins. Help them Lord to defeat satan’s
power In the name of Jesus.
We pray Lord that the harvest will be ripe,
Send forth the laborers – deliver them Lord –
Touch Clinton and Jennifer right now Lord
And touch Elizabeth and Tony and Amanda and Dreanna and Lonzo and Terry and Sonny
And all of our Family and Friends Lord that don’t know you tonight! Touch em Lord before its everlasting to late!
Open the door of faith – open their minds to the gospel and we pray that the gospel won’t be hid – lead em Lord from the darkness to the light – touch them Father and we’ll never ever fail to give you all the honor and all the praise and all the glory in the name of Jesus we pray
AMEN
James chapter 5 says:
Is any sick among you? Let him call for the elders
Of the church: and let them pray over him, anointing
Him with oil in the name of the Lord;
And the prayer of faith shall raise him up and if he have committed sins, they shall be forgiven him!!
Whatever your need tonight please come forward!!
