JOB’S TRIALS & TRIB’S
Job 1: 1-22
Job was In fact a real person, Just like
Ezekiel and Joshua was back in the old
Testament
Job was a native of the land of UZ.
This was probably between Damascus and
The Euphrates River.
Job lived around the time of Abraham
Which was about 2000 BC.
Job was quite wealthy and Him and his sons
Were homeowners in a large city of the
Region. Job was very well respected and a
Benefactor of his fellow citizens.
He was also righteous in God’s Eyes
These events in this book of the bible were
Initiated by God and not by Satan like you would think.
God didn’t allow these trials because of Sin!
This was just God testing Job’s faith and
Obedience!!!
But Job emerged from his testing with a New
Fresh Appreciation of God’s Sovereignty
and Sufficiency For this Believers Life!!!
The first two Chapters of Job are written as
A prologue to the poetic saga that follows here
In verse one of our reading today
To start with there are 4 main things that Jump right
Out at us!!
How Job is a man that was trying to live PERFECT
And also how he was a man that was UPRIGHT
And He was a man that feared GOD
And He Eschewed or (Shunned) EVIL
Not only was Job’s life upright but
Her was very prosperous
He had an abundance of livestock
Which in this time was a symbol of wealth
And GREATNESS
Job was a very spiritual man and clearly
Revealed his sensitivity to sin
And its continuos need for sacrifice.
In VS. 6 Sons of God is referring to angelic beings
And Satan is also considered one of them
This passage shows that Satan has access to God’s presence but it is quite clear he only has the access that God will let him have!!
And further Satan only has the power that we
Allow him to have!!
Satan is actually powerless but he uses us to
Allow him to gain power!!
We can plainly see here that Satan was just about his business with Job.
And you better know that He’s about his business
With us also!!
Satan tries and tries to find our weaknesses
And he uses them against us
But we as children of God need to see that
We do receive good and bad at the hand of God
However the bad comes so we will become stronger in the Lord!!!
Going to and fro in our reading refers to the
Devils activity though he doesn’t admit it here
This activity of the devil indicates to us
That he only has limited access to God
And Praise God this particular passage in Job indicates that God is sovereign over Satan
And further teaches us that Satan is not
omnipresent like God is!!
And he can’t touch God’s servants without
God’s permission
Verses 13-19 tells us that these disasters that
fell upon Job were human in nature.
Sabeans, Chaldeans and the naturals were
Fire and Wind!!
But God knew Job’s frame of mind
And God also knew that it would be Job’s toughest trial, but he allowed evil to befall him, simply because God had faith in his servant Job!!!
It was almost like God was saying
Come-on Buddy I believe in ya, You can
Handle this!!!
In our own lives we have to go through many trials and trib’s but
The bible tells us we are heirs with God
And Joint heirs with Jesus Christ
And if we are to share in the reward at the end
Of this life then we will probably have to
Share in the suffering as well
But I guarantee that the pain and suffering
We will have to endure here in this life
Wont be anything to compare to the glory
We will receive when we make it to heaven
With streets of Gold Walls of Jaspers pearly gates
When trials and trib’s come we need to be
Encouraged that its like this situation with Job
God is just letting us know that he believes in us
And we will make it through the tests
And trials of life on this side!!!
What we need to do is turn it around on the devil
The devil don’t know how to tell the truth
And it tells us in the bible
1 Peter
be sober be vigilant, because your adversary
the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about
seeding whom he may devour.
We don’t need to forget that over 2000 years ago
That old lion was defanged and declawed when
Jesus Christ marched through hell and picked
Up the keys to death, hell, and the grave!!!
We don’t need to let Satan intimidate us
We need to intimidate him!!! Hahahahaha
Chew on that devil in the name of Jesus!!!
The devil cant handle the truth
He can’t tell it
And he definitely can’t handle it
Turn him in the direction he’s headed
Let him know where he’s gonna end up!!!
IN HELL!!!!!
With his fallen angels!!
When Satan says you’re gonna die
Just say
WRONG I’M GONNA LIVE AND GUESS WHAT
YOUR GONNA DIE FOR EVER AND EVER
Tell him what God’s word says
PSALM 118:17
I shall not die, but live and declare
The works of the Lord!!!
ITS ABOUT TIME WE TAKE A STAND
TAKE A STAND FOR GOD
LET THE DEVIL KNOW WE ARE GONNA
LIVE AND HE’S GONNA DIE!!!!
It’s time for your dreams to be resurrected
And your families to be restored
It’s time for our vision to become reality
It’s time for our future to become the present
And ordinary to change to extraordinary
We can’t let the devil play and toy with us
The devil will lie to you
He’ll lie to you about people
He’ll lie to you about church
He’ll lie to you about your pastor
He’ll lie to you about the Evangelist
He’ll even lie to the pastor about the members
He’ll try to confuse you
He’ll try to fog your thoughts
And the whole time he’ll be laughing
And making fun of you!!!!
When the devil throws you a curve
Be prayed up and ready
Don’t catch that curve ball
The devil ain’t your friend
He’s not your confidant
PEOPLE HE’S THE ENEMY
Get on your spiritual armor!!!!
Send hem for a loop
Kick him over the fence
Don’t let that negative talking joy stealing
Victory thieving adversary
Have any power over you or your family!!!
And remember when things don’t go right
Or if you have a bad day
Or if your stewing about something that
Didn’t go right
Just remember its just the devil trying
To get you all out of whack!!!
His playground is our mind – don’t forget that
If you let him in
He’ll have everything going wrong in your mind
Don’t let him have you doing those old
Things that the old man did!!!!
In the name of Jesus be victorious!!!
Don’t let him have you fussin and cussin again
Or smoking like a freight train
Remain holy
Its still a part of Christian living
Holiness and Christianity work hand in hand!!
1ST PETER SAYS
but as he which hath called you is holy
so be ye holy in all manner of conversation
because it is written
be ye holy for I am holy!!
The Bible says
For ye were sometimes darkness
But now are ye light in the Lord
Walk as children of light
In the book of Romans
Chap 12
We are to remain holy
And present our bodies a living sacrifice
Do you think God would be cussing or Fussing
Or telling dirty Jokes
Or sitting on His throne puffing on a marlboro??
I DON’T THINK SO!!!!!
EPHESIANS 5:1 SAYS:
Be ye therefore followers of God
As dear Children!!!
Don’t fall into the snares of the devil
Tell him you’re not gonna listen to him anymore
Don’t give in to the devil when he tempts you
When you give in your giving in to
Negativism – doubt – unbelief – and discord
In your life!!!
When you oppose the devil your speaking
Everlasting life into your situation
And your speaking faith into your eternal life
At the end of Chap 1
The devil failed!!!!
Even the devil tempted Job’s wife
And she said CURSE GOD AND DIE
But Job said to her
Thou speakest as one of the foolish women speaketh WHAT?
Shall we receive good at the hand of God
And shall we not receive evil?
In all this did not Job sin with his lips
In today’s language I think Job is saying
WOMAN HAVE YOU LOST YOUR MIND?
WJAT ARE YOU THINKING?
WE’RE TALKING ABOUT THE ALMIGHTY
GOD HERE!!!
CURSE HIM AND DIE?
But you see instead of Job cursing God
Like Satan tempted him to do
Job worshipped God
Even though he lost two of lives most
Precious possessions
FAMILY AND WEALTH
He still remained upright to God
In Chapter 2 Job is tempted and tried further
His health is affected by sore
Boils and they covered his entire body
And they were also visible and very painful
After all they had been through its no wonder
Job’s wife wanted him to curse God
She no doubt was ready to give up
But Job knew that good and evil come from God
God can and will permit evil things to happen to us
For His praise Honor and Glory in the End
But even still with all this
Satan was sorely defeated once again
And in the book of Job Satan isn’t mentioned again
Our lesson today is quite simple
No matter how good life is with riches and
worldly things
And no matter how much pain and suffering
we must endure
we must always give God Praise in all things
and God always gets
ALL the HONOR and Glory as well!!
Whatever the devil tries to tell you
Always take the opposite
If it hurts someone, know its from the devil
If its health related just say Nope I’m All right
If its your finances remind the devil that
The wealth of the wicked is laid up for the
Righteous
If its church related
Tell him that the Gates of Hell will not
Prevail over the church!!!!
If its emotions just say
Hey devil this is the temple of the holy spirit!!!
Just say GET THEE HENCE SATAN
IN THE NAME OF JESUS!!!!
