You Can’t Hide from God!
Scripture Reference: Psalm 139:7,8 (KJV)
Psalm 139:7 Whither shall I go from thy spirit? Or whither shall I flee from thy presence? 8 If I ascend up into heaven, thou art there: if I make my bed in hell, behold, thou art there.
Have we ever really taken the time to realize that God is in hell too!
To some this may be a new fact but to most this is old news that we may just need reminded of. Whatever the case may be we need to keep this in mind as we live our day to day lives.
Some may think that there is a deep, dark, hidden, quiet corner that they can go to where God may not be able to see them but I am here to tell you that God is there. God is everywhere, he is even in hell too. So if you think that your sin is going unnoticed then you are wrong saint because God sees you even there.
When Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego were thrown into the fire they were in a hell of a situation (Daniel 3:23 And these three men, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, fell down bound into the midst of the burning fiery furnace.) . Although they were not in literal hell they were in the closest thing that man can see to hell while on earth. This was the perfect opportunity for God to illustrate to the world that he is in hell too.
Some may think that because God is in hell too should be a comforting note but in reality this should give you reason to never even look that way (to hell) again. I am sure that when Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego were delivered from the fire they realized how much God had just blessed them but at the same time they probably never wanted to go back in that fire again.
Though they had been used by God in a mighty way, they were godly enough to know not to play with fire. Are we playing with fire? Are we tempting God? He has told us that no man knows the day nor the hour (Matthew 25:13 Watch therefore, for ye know neither the day nor the hour wherein the Son of man cometh.) but that he is coming back soon. Will you be ready?
Since God is omnipotent (Revelation 19:6 And I heard as it were the voice of a great multitude, and as the voice of many waters, and as the voice of mighty thunderings, saying, Alleluia: for the Lord God omnipotent reigneth.) . He is not just a visitor but he is even ruling hell. We already know that God can never and will never live anywhere that he is not in charge of. Hell is no exception. Although he has total authority in hell his role there is completely different than what it is in earth and heaven.
You can never satisfy hell. Hell is a bottomless pit that requires more and more to satisfy her (Isaiah 5:14 Therefore hell hath enlarged herself, and opened her mouth without measure: and their glory, and their multitude, and their pomp, and he that rejoiceth, shall descend into it.) . If you have two girlfriends then you will want three and if you manage three well you will wonder why you can’t have four. The desire (greed) just gets stronger and stronger as you feed it. It wants more and more. (Proverbs 27:20 Hell and destruction are never full; so the eyes of man are never satisfied.).
Although God is incapable of doing anything that is not ultimately good (Mark 10:18 And Jesus said unto him, Why callest thou me good? there is none good but one, that is, God.), people seem to get the misinterpretation that God only sees the good that we do. We think that there is a special hiding place that we can go to that God will not be there (Verse 7 Whither shall I go from thy spirit? Or whither shall I flee from thy presence?). This is wrong we need to be careful because what we are really doing is taking his mercy as weakness.
He sees the bad too and knows that you are on the way to hell. He has even sent warning signals as well as his word telling us to change our ways. Yet we continue as if we really did not see the sign that he sent our way.
I am here to give you another timely warning that God sees us in our Tax Evasion, fornication, adultery, lying, lasciviousness and any other sin that we think is hidden. I am here to reassure some and inform others that God is, has been and will be in hell too. The big difference between us being in hell and God being in hell is that Hell will consume us but God will remain perpetually in hell because He has hell defeated and you don’t (Luke 16:23 And in hell he lift up his eyes, being in torments, and seeth Abraham afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom. 24 And he cried and said, Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus, that he may dip the tip of his finger in water, and cool my tongue; for I am tormented in this flame.)
We think that we are so slick because we have our wives, husbands, parents, boss’ fooled into thinking what we want them to think about us. We think that we are operating in darkness or silence but I am here to tell that the one who really counts (GOD) is still standing right beside you walking with you. Although you are silly enough to try to operate without His grace and mercy, He is still there watching over you. Where do you think that you can go and He is not there too? Who can you talk to and He not hear every word?
Some think that since they can trick mortal man, God does not see them. Satan is tricking you brethren and if you are not wise enough to change your ways soon he is going to pull the cover off of you and expose you to the world. Nothing will make Satan happier than to expose you right in the middle of the one time that you tried to get away with that one thing that really did not hurt anybody else anyway but you knew that it was wrong from the start.
However to others the fact that God is in hell is a true blessing because we are sure that we have an advocate that can come to our defense when Satan tries to trick us. We have someone there who saw the whole thing and can stand up for our defense. We need God to be our battleaxe in the time of need. It is good to know that no matter how much Satan tries to say the wrong thing God was there for the whole thing. When we think about it this is really what makes him such a powerful God because He can see the whole story while it is happening. He does not need an witness but his desire is for us to be a witness for his word.
The more we work for God the more He will work in our lives. This is what causes us to be in a state of servitude to Him at all times because we will never be able to repay Him for the goodness that He has placed in our lives. The more we try to bless Him the more He will bestow on us that we be a bigger blessing to Him. There is truly nothing like a man who is not afraid to be a big blessing to God.
Here we see the writer confessing that whether he ascends (move forward) or makes a bed (tries to sleep) God sees him. This is funny how the writer makes it clear that we are either moving forward or trying to sleep the problems away. There is no middle ground for us to just stop and rest. We need to be pushing or prepared to get out of the way.
Have you ever tried to sleep a problem away? We can sleep for three days straight but if we don’t change something (mainly us) then we will have a problem that is another three days old and three days stronger. I want to give the saints of God who are willing to listen a little advice: Since we cannot change the people around us we need to focus on changing ourselves.
It is true we cannot make anyone do anything that they do not want to do. We will only stress ourselves out trying. They will hate us and we will not have done anything but probably take a bad situation and make it worse. The absolute best thing that we can do is change ourselves. However this is not an attempt to change into what they want us to be but we need to change ourselves into a more pleasing site to God.
Sometimes we think that we are sanctifying ourselves by holding out on sexual relations with our spouse but God has not authorized you to do this saint, the bible does not say that. This is not an authorized method of change from God so do not try this at home. However refusing to go to the local bar in attempt to show your love and show that you have versatility is authorized (Ephesians 5:24 Therefore as the church is subject unto Christ, so let the wives be to their own husbands in every thing. 25 Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it;) . You do not have to compromise the word to make a point. In a time of need is not the time to abandon the word of God.
There is nothing that you can offer the devil on earth that will satisfy his greed to destroy you. He wants to see you dead not just physically but everything that you have ever tried to work for. All of your dreams and aspirations he wants them to be dead right now. He wants you to think that there is no hope for restitution. If it were not for a God that was perpetually in hell with him then some of the accusations that come against you would probably be held against you (but God).
Because the Holy Father has decided to take a permanent residence in hell we never have to worry that Satan will be able to come against us with any authority. If we were only smart enough to know that when we bargain with the devil that the devil will not change. He will always be a liar no matter what. He wants to steal everything that you have. The best thief is the one that you can not see. He is there but the whole time he is tricking us into thinking that he is not.
I hope that the writer knows that if he decides to go to hell he will not be using that bed much. There is one enemy on the battlefield that is more deadly than the deadliest of bombs that man can ever conceive. It is called stress. If Satan can get us to stress about anything then he can take total control of any situation.
When we stress, one of the first things that will happen is that we lose the ability to get a good night of rest. Satan knows how important rest is to your body that it may be able to function correctly and he wants to steal that too from you right now.
If Satan were a car thief he would steal the wheels, steering wheel, stereo and everything else out of the car and leave just a helpless and useless body of a car. This is his desire for us. He wants to render the working saint completely and utterly useless. Of course he has to do this without being detected because the owner would quickly and easily be able to stop him if he were to identify him. Satan has disabled all alarm systems and quietly broken the glass. He is working quickly that he may be able to finish the job so we really need to roll over and look out of the window and see what is happening to our property in the hands of Satan. We need to do whatever necessary to take back what is ours.
I would like to take this opportunity to share this advice with everyone because although many people know this and do this already someone reminded me of it a couple of days ago and since then God has changed my life (again). We need to pray with our families every night. Every night before you go to bed you should pray with the person closest to you (out loud). I would like for at least one married couple to try this and see if it will not change your relationship with each other immediately and forever.
If God would send some of his angels to hell, what makes you think that you are above the judgment of God (2 Peter 2:4 For if God spared not the angels that sinned, but cast them down to hell, and delivered them into chains of darkness, to be reserved unto judgment; ). Truly I realize that if this is a new word from God then you probably are not digesting it but the word I give to you today is supported by the Holy Bible. It doesn’t have to be popular. If any part of the bible be true then this too must be true.
We need to be careful because all Satan wants to do really is get us caught out there. It’s amazing how you can get to a place thirty minutes, an hour or two hours early and be ok. However if you go past the meeting time by 1 second then you can be classified as too late. This is what Satan wants to do to us. He wants us to sin for just long enough until God pulls the plug and it is too late. We will certainly be in a hell of a situation, men will want to die but cannot die (Revelation 9:6 And in those days shall men seek death, and shall not find it; and shall desire to die, and death shall flee from them.).
CONCLUSION
Hell is real and we have two choices: Holiness or Hell
Either way God will see you so don’t try to hide and think that you are sneaking or fooling me because you won’t be, you will only be fooling yourself.
Today is a good day and now is the perfect time to change our ways and avoid hell
