SOWING THE SEED
Matthew 13:1-10

1. Jesus taught the people by telling them parables. Matthew 13:3

B. We need to be able to relate difficult theology in easy to understand terms.
C. We should know the difficult completely, so we can communicate simply.
2. The parable explained. Matthew 13:3-8 and 18-23
A. The seed that fell on the path equals a lack of understanding.
B. The seed that fell on rocky places equals a lack of training.
C. The seed that fell in the thorns equals a lack of trust in God.
D. The seed that fell on good soil equals understanding.
3. What should we learn from this parable?
A. The church is the farmer. We should be spreading the seed.
B. The farmer spreads the seed everywhere.
C. Sometimes seeds do not grow and we have to leave them alone.
D. God provides the increase. I Corinthians 3:5-8
E. Part of receiving the seed is producing a crop. John 15:1-6
