The miracles of Jesus

Miracles # 17

As we look at this miracle I do not want to focus on the demons but the man. As I look at this miracle I see some questions that I would like to ask, questions that we all can answer questions that will cause us to think and reflect on just what Jesus has done for each one of us.

As we read this text of scripture it is about a man possessed by many demons. This was a man that no one could control. He was a man that everyone feared. This was a man that needed Jesus because Jesus was the only one that could help him. Can I tell you something in some ways we are all this man.

So today I am going to ask and answer three questions. These questions are thought provoking and need to be answered in our own lives.

I. What has Jesus done for every saved person? 5:15

A. He has delivered us from the power of Satan

NOTE: Every lost and backslidden person is under the power of Satan. The lost person he possesses but the save backslidden person he oppresses.

B. Jesus clothes us.

When we are lost we are naked and open before the Lord we have filthy rags of unrighteousness when we accept Jesus as our Lord and Savior he clothes us with righteousness

C. Jesus puts us in our right minds or gives us our senses.

NOTE: As unbelievers we do not have the mind or the senses that we need we think things that are bad for us are good for us. Romans 12:2 It tells us to be not conformed to this world but be transformed by the renewing of our mind.

D. Jesus heals us from our sickness off sin.

II. What does Jesus want ever saved person to do for Him? 5:19

NOTE: The man wanted to go with Jesus to be with Him but look what Jesus said to him and that he says to us.

A. Go to the people you know.

B. Tell them what Jesus has done for you.

C. Tell them how he loves you and loves them.

III. Do you do what Jesus wants you to do? 5:20

A. He departed

B. He proclaimed

C. He saw results
