INFALLIBLE PROOFS OF THE RESURRECTION OF JESUS CHRIST
Text: Acts 1:4
1:1 The former treatise have I made, O Theophilus, of all that Jesus began both to do and teach,
2 Until the day in which he was taken up, after that he through the Holy Ghost had given commandments unto the apostles whom he had chosen:
3 To whom also he shewed himself alive after his passion by many infallible proofs, being seen of them forty days, and speaking of the things pertaining to the kingdom of God:
4 And, being assembled together with them, commanded them that they should not depart from Jerusalem, but wait for the promise of the Father, which, saith he, ye have heard of me KJV
Intro: According to Acts 1:3, Jesus showed Himself alive by "many infallible proofs." I love that word, "infallible," don’t you? We have an infallible Savior, who has given us infallible scriptures and gave "many infallible proofs" of His resurrection. By the way, most of the new so-called "Bibles" don’t like the word, "infallible" so they have changed "many infallible proofs" to something less certain:
· New World Translation - "many positive proofs"
· Revised Standard Version - "many convincing proofs"
· New American Standard Version - "many convincing proofs"
· New International Version - "many convincing proofs"
Though the liberals laugh, the skeptics scorn, and the moderni-st mock, I want to go on record that I believe in the bodily resurrection of Jesus Christ. In this message I want to give four infallible proofs.
I. THE TEACHING OF THE SCRIPTURES...
A. The Savour promised it... Mark 10:32-34
32 And they were in the way going up to Jerusalem; and Jesus went before them: and they were amazed; and as they followed, they were afraid. And he took again the twelve, and began to tell them what things should happen unto him,
33 Saying, Behold, we go up to Jerusalem; and the Son of man shall be delivered unto the chief priests, and unto the scribes; and they shall condemn him to death, and shall deliver him to the Gentile.
34 And they shall mock him, and shall scourge him, and shall spit upon him, and shall kill him: and the third day he shall rise again.
B. The Spirit proved it...
Jn. 16:7; 7 Nevertheless I tell you the truth; It is expedient for you that I go away: for if I go not away, the Comforter will not come unto you; but if I depart, I will send him unto you.
Jn. 14:16 16 And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever;

C. The Saints proclaimed it..
Acts 2:22-24, 22 Ye men of Israel, hear these words; Jesus of Nazareth, a man approved of God among you by miracles and wonders and signs, which God did by him in the midst of you, as ye yourselves also know:
23 Him, being delivered by the determinate counsel and foreknowledge of God, ye have taken, and by wicked hands have crucified and slain:
24 Whom God hath raised up, having loosed the pains of death: because it was not possible that he should be holden of it…
…32 This Jesus hath God raised up, whereof we all are witnesses.
33 Therefore being by the right hand of God exalted, and having received of the Father the promise of the Holy Ghost, he hath shed forth this, which ye now see and hear.
Acts 3:15, 15 And killed the Prince of life, whom God hath raised from the dead; whereof we are witnesses.
Acts 4:10, 10 Be it known unto you all, and to all the people of Israel, that by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom ye crucified, whom God raised from the dead, even by him doth this man stand here before you whole.
Acts 5:3030 The God of our fathers raised up Jesus, whom ye slew and hanged on a tree.
II. THE TRANSFORMING OF THE SERVANTS...
For time sakes we will only look at Peter.
A. He was changed from a fearful person to a fearless person after the resurrection.
B. He was changed from a foul-mouth denier to a fiery message deliverer.
C. He was changed from a forsaking disciple to a faithful disciple.
III. THE TROUBLING OF THE SOLDIERS,..
Matt. 27:62-66; 62 Now the next day, that followed the day of the preparation, the chief priests and Pharisees came together unto Pilate,
63 Saying, Sir, we remember that that deceiver said, while he was yet alive, After three days I will rise again.
64 Command therefore that the sepulchre be made sure until the third day, lest his disciples come by night, and steal him away, and say unto the people, He is risen from the dead: so the last error shall be worse than the first.
65 Pilate said unto them, Ye have a watch: go your way, make it as sure as ye can.
66 So they went, and made the sepulchre sure, sealing the stone, and setting a watch.
They Sealed the Stone but not the ROCK
Mat. 28:11-1511 Now when they were going, behold, some of the watch came into the city, and shewed unto the chief priests all the things that were done.
12 And when they were assembled with the elders, and had taken counsel, they gave large money unto the soldiers,
13 Saying, Say ye, His disciples came by night, and stole him away while we slept.
14 And if this come to the governor’s ears, we will persuade him, and secure you.
15 So they took the money, and did as they were taught: and this saying is commonly reported among the Jews until this day.
A. Their fear.. .Why were they afraid if he had not risen?
B. Their falsehood.. .Why did they have to pay the guards to tell the truth, if he had not truly risen?
C. Their failure... If they had believed the body had been stolen, they would have used every Roman soldier to find the body.
IV. THE TRANQUILITY OF THE SAINTS...l Cor. 15 1-6
1 Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand;
2 By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain.
3 For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures;
4 And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:
5 And that he was seen of Cephas, then of the twelve:
6 After that, he was seen of above five hundred brethren at once; of whom the greater part remain unto this present, but some are fallen asleep.
A. The very heartbeat of Salvation is the Resurrection of Jesus Christ.. .V 3-4.
B. The very hope of Salvation is the resurrection of Jesus Christ.

C. The hindrance to people being saved is their failure to believe in the Resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ...Rom. 10:9-10.

9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.
