Summary: In this day and time it’s easy for the believer to want to just give up and throw in the towel. But the Word of God encourages us to hang in there because there will be a reward for those who endure until the end.

QUITTING IS NOT AN OPTION!

GALATIANS 6:9

For the last two months the Lord has allowed powerful and anointed messages to forth into this body of believers that I believe has help propel and position us into this specific area that we are operating in… Whether it’s been in Tuesday Night Bible Class or our Sunday Morning worship experience, I believe that God has ordained and orchestrated for a time such as this, the level and intensity of anointing that He is calling us to operate in… And because of this unprecedented level that he has called us to, I believe likewise that the enemy has literally pulled the gloves and is in fact, playing dirty… He’s hitting below the belt… Sucker punching, kicking and biting, using illegal choke holds… He’s doing everything he can to tear us down and destroy us… (John 10:10)

Furthermore, I believe that as a result of this tumultuous and turbulent attack, there are many in the body of Christ who are becoming of the mindset to just throw in the towel and just give up… I believe that there might be some of you in here today that are just tired of going round and round with the enemy… Tired… Tired of being tired, tired of coming out on what seems like ‘the short end…’

Tired of always feeling like you don’t have enough to make it, that you’re defeated… That you’ll never get ahead… That you’ll never be victorious… And perhaps you’ve come to that point in life where you’re just ready to give it up…! You’re ready to just throw in the towel… You just want to grab your bible and go home…

For those of you who feel like that, you need to know that God has a Word you for today… It may not make you feel good, but it’s the Word that’s for you… It may not feel good to you, but it’s good for you… For those of you ready to throw in the towel and give up, the Lord would have me to tell you today simply this: QUITTING IS NOT AN OPTION…!

I know you’re tired…

You’re ready to give up…

You’re discouraged…

It doesn’t seem like God hears you…

You can’t get a prayer through…

You can’t get a breakthrough…

But Holy Spirit says: QUITTING IS NOT AN OPTION…!

(Text…) And let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart. (NKJV)… And let us not lose heart and grow weary and faint in acting nobly and doing right, for in due time and at the appointed season we shall reap, if we do not loosen and relax our courage and faint. (Amp)… So don’t get tired of doing what is good. Don’t get discouraged and give up, for we will reap a harvest of blessing at the appropriate time. (NLT)

I need to tell you today, that there are some dangers in quitting…

I. CRUCIFIES YOUR CONFESSION (Heb. 10:19-38)

(v 19-21 NLT) “…we can boldly enter heaven’s Most Holy Place because of the blood of Jesus. 20This is the new, life-giving way that Christ has opened up for us through the sacred curtain, by means of his death for us. And since we have a great High Priest who rules over God’s people…”

Because of Christ’s death, we have been placed in position whereby we can come boldly into the presence of God… We have been placed into position to receive all that He has for us… How dare we forfeit that gift and that right given to us…?

(v 22-25) “…let us go right into the presence of God, with true hearts fully trusting him. For our evil consciences have been sprinkled with Christ’s blood to make us clean, and our bodies have been washed with pure water… Without wavering, let us hold tightly to the hope we say we have (your confession), for God can be trusted to keep his promise. Think of ways to encourage one another to outbursts of love and good deeds. And let us not neglect our meeting together, as some people do, but encourage and warn each other, especially now that the day of his coming back again is drawing near…”

(v 26-39) “… if we deliberately continue sinning after we have received a full knowledge of the truth, there is no other sacrifice that will cover these sins. There will be nothing to look forward to but the terrible expectation of God’s judgment and the raging fire that will consume his enemies. Anyone who refused to obey the law of Moses was put to death without mercy on the testimony of two or three witnesses. Think how much more terrible the punishment will be for those who have trampled on the Son of God and have treated the blood of the covenant as if it were common and unholy. Such people have insulted and enraged the Holy Spirit who brings God’s mercy to his people… (30) For we know the one who said, "I will take vengeance. I will repay those who deserve it." He also said, "The Lord will judge his own people." It is a terrible thing to fall into the hands of the living God…”

(v 32) “Don’t ever forget those early days when you first learned about Christ. Remember how you remained faithful even though it meant terrible suffering. Sometimes you were exposed to public ridicule and were beaten, and sometimes you helped others who were suffering the same things. You suffered along with those who were thrown into jail. When all you owned was taken from you, you accepted it with joy (James 1:2-3). (because)You knew you had better things waiting for you in eternity…”

(35) “Do not throw away this confident trust in the Lord, no matter what happens. Remember the great reward it brings you! Patient endurance is what you need now, so you will continue to do God’s will. Then you will receive all that he has promised. "For in just a little while, the Coming One will come and not delay. And a righteous person will live by faith. But I will have no pleasure in anyone who turns away..." Quitting Is Not An Option… I. Crucifies Your Confession…

II. CONTAMINATES YOUR CHARACTER (Job 1-42:6)

Job gives us an excellent example of one who exemplary character… Job was a man of impeccable character… The record says that; “there is none like him on the earth, a blameless and upright man, one who fears God and shuns evil; and still he holds fast to his integrity, although you incited Me against him, to destroy him without cause (Job 2:3)…”

The record goes on to record the fact that in just a few days he lost his business, his wealth, his family, and his health… But he never blamed God…! What does that say about character…? (Difference between character and reputation… Reputation: Who people think I am... Character: Who God knows me to be...)

Job had lost all, and to add insult to injury, his friends began to turn on him and speculate as to why all this happened… They said it was because he had hidden sin in his life… (Sounds like people today…) But look how Job responded… From chapters 4-37, he defends his stance against friends and his wife, as to why he remains ‘on the Lord’s side…’ Through the midst of all hell and havoc, Job says, “Though He slay me, yet will I trust Him. Even so, I will defend my own ways before Him…” (Point…) No matter what comes your way, you’ve got to be like Job and hang in there for the long haul…

In chapter 38, God begins to reveal Himself and His purpose to Job… He asks Job; “Who are you to question me…? Who are you to question me about what I allow you to go through in life…?” God is answering Job in response to him asking God to “explain” himself… (Explain…)

(Lesson…) Even in the midst of the questioning (rebuke) from God, Job still maintains his integrity and character by admitting that he is nothing is comparison to God… (Point…) Real character will always keep you in check as it relates to where you stand with God… Job didn’t contaminate himself (his character) by succumbing to the attacks of the enemy, by allowing his friends to persuade him in the midst of his trying times… (Best of all…) Job reinforces to us indeed that in the worst of adversities, that Quitting Is Not An Option… I. Crucifies Your Confession… II. Contaminates Your Character… (Text…) Quitting Is Not An Option… (let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart…)… Because those who commit themselves to continue on will…

III. RECEIVE A GREAT REWARD (Job 42:7-14)

The record says that the first thing God did in response to Job maintaining his character was rebuke his friends… (Make your enemies your footstool…) After he rebukes his friends, he restored his fortunes… The Bible says the he received double of everything that he had… Why? Because he didn’t give up… He understood that Quitting Was Not An Option…!

Somebody is saying, “What does that have to do with me…? I haven’t lost my children, my job, my home…?” Remember our text… (Gal 6:9; “Let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart…”)

(Lesson…) The Apostolic Anointing that is in this house also rests on you… (Because of connection you have here…)

(Jesus says…) "Look, I am sending you out as sheep among wolves. Be as wary (wise) as snakes and harmless as doves. But beware! For you will be handed over to the courts and beaten in the synagogues. And you must stand trial before governors and kings because you are my followers. This will be your opportunity to tell them about me--yes, to witness to the world… When you are arrested, don’t worry about what to say in your defense, because you will be given the right words at the right time. For it won’t be you doing the talking--it will be the Spirit of your Father speaking through you. "Brother will betray brother to death, fathers will betray their own children, and children will rise against their parents and cause them to be killed. And everyone will hate you because of your allegiance to me. But those who endure to the end will be saved…” (Matt. 10:16-22 NLT) (“Let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart…”)
