Summary: We consider five areas we need to submit to the Master’s touch: Spiritual, behavorial, relational, emotional, and physical.

WHAT DO YOU MEAN, WHO TOUCHED ME?

FIVE LEVELS TO BRING TO GOD FOR WHOLENESS!

BE MADE WHOLE

By Wade Martin Hughes, Sr. Kyfingers@aol.com

I. LET US LOOK AT THE TRIUNE PART OF LIFE.

A. We serve a triune God, God the Father, God the Son,

and God the Holy Spirit.

B. ASK THE QUESTION: WE ARE A TRIUNE BEINGS,

ASK PEOPLE WHAT IS OUR TRIUNE BEING AND 95% OF PEOPLE

WILL SAY: BODY, SOUL AND SPIRIT.

Stating body, soul and spirit is not a proper Biblical order.

C. WHOLENESS COMES AS SPIRIT, SOUL AND BODY.

Yet, we establish a wrong priority system to wholeness when we list the body as the important part.

God sees the SPIRIT man as the most important.

D. We are a triune being, spirit, soul and body.

I Thessalonians 5:23 And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.

E. THERE IS A GREAT LESSON OF THE WHOLENESS AND PRIORITIES.

We grow pleasure pleasing sensual churches that often are shallow in the deeper things of God.

Matthew 10:28 And fear not them which can kill your body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body.

II. AT JESUS’ FEET THERE IS A WHOLENESS THAT CAN’T BE FOUND IN A CLASSROOM.

BE MADE WHOLE, SEEMS 9 PEOPLE WERE SO WRAPPED UP IN THEIR RELIGIOUS DUTIES THAT THEY MISSED A PRIORITY?

Luke 17: 12 And as Jesus entered into a certain village, there met Him ten men that were lepers, which stood afar off:

13 And they lifted up their voices, and said Jesus, Master, have mercy on us.

14 And when Jesus saw them, He said unto them,

Go show yourselves unto the priests. And it came to pass, that, as they went, they were cleansed.

15 And one of them, when he saw that he was healed, TURNED BACK, and with a loud voice glorified God.

16 And fell down on his face at His feet, Giving Him thanks: and he was a Samaritan.

17 And Jesus answering said, Were there not ten cleansed? But where are the nine?

18 There are not found that returned to give glory to God, save this stranger.

19 And he said unto him, Arise, go thy way: thy faith hath made thee whole.

A. SEEMS THIS HEALING WAS A PROGRESSIVE ACTION, THEY LEFT WITH LEPEROUSY, AND HEALING CAME AT SOME POINT IN THE JOURNEY.

B. THE MAN WITHOUT RELIGIOUS TRAINING DID THE RIGHT THING AND RETURNED PRAISING AND GLORIFYING JESUS.

C. THE NINE SEEMED TO BE SO INTENT ON THE CEREMONY THAT THEY MISSED THE PRESENCE OF THE SON OF GOD.

D. ONE THANKFUL MAN RECEIVED THE WHOLENESS THAT THE OTHERS MISSED.

III. TEN WERE HEALED, BUT ONLY ONE WAS MADE WHOLE.

I THINK IT IS POSSIBLE TO COME INTO CONTACT WITH JESUS AND BE CHARMED BUT NOT CHANGED.

A. IS IT POSSIBLE TO MAKE A DECISION AND HAVE NO CONVERSION?

B. CAN WE COME TO JESUS WITH A GOOD DEDICATION YET HAVE NO COMMITMENT?

C. IS IT POSSIBLE TO KNOW JESUS AND YET NOT KNOW THE

IMPORTANCE OF HIS PRESENCE?

D. WITHOUT THIS SEPERATION WE TEND TO FIND DEPRESSION,

DISCOURAGEMENT, AND THE LOSE OF JOY IN THE CHURCH.

E. WE ARE HEALED BUT NOT WHOLE?

IV. IS IT POSSIBLE TO BE A GREAT PERSON OF VISION AND DREAMS AND NEVER TAKE THE STEP TO WHOLENESS AND MOVE IN ACTION?

A. A DREAMER WITHOUT ACTION IS LIKE A CLOUD WITH NO RAIN?

B. WHOLE

***Free of wounds or injury ***To recover from harm

***Free of defect ***Mentally or emotionally sound

***Nothing has been omitted or ignored

***Complete ***entire

***Parts acting in unity and harmony

V. WHAT DO YOU MEAN WHO TOUCHED ME? WHAT?

A. MANY PEOPLE TOUCHED JESUS THAT DAY, BUT ONE WOMAN TOUCHED JESUS?

B. I can not tell you the difference between touching Jesus, and touching Jesus --- but there is a great difference.

C. And wholeness can only come to those that touch Jesus with more than a touch.

Matthew 9:22 But Jesus turned him about, and when He saw her, He said, Daughter, be of good comfort; thy faith hath made thy WHOLE. And the woman was made whole from that hour.

D. THERE WERE MANY GREAT MEN OF GOD AROUND THAT DID NOT UNDERSTAND THIS QUESTION: WHO TOUCHED ME?

E. WHAT DO YOU MEAN WHO TOUCHED ME?

THOUSANDS TOUCHED JESUS WITHOUT BEING MADE WHOLE?

F. WILL YOU TOUCH JESUS? OR WILL YOU TOUCH JESUS?

VI. WE ARE A COMPLEX SOCIETY AND A VERY COMPLEX CHURCH.

WE DESIRE TO BE ACCEPTED AND CROWD PLEASING!

A. Many people want to come to Jesus by their own standards and expectations.

B. Many want to come to God in part, and keep back their whole being.

C. Jesus’ system works best when we bring our WHOLE BEING to the foot of the cross.

D. We want to measure our direction and progress by our own plans.

VII. WE ARE MORE THAN BODY AND SENSUAL BEINGS.

THERE ARE SEVERAL LEVELS OF LIFE AND EVERY LEVEL MUST BE SUBMITTED IN TOTALITY TO THE GREAT AWESOME GOD WE SERVE.

A. WE WANT TO COME TO GOD ON OUR LEVEL OF EXISTANCE AND CONSCIOUSNESS, BUT THERE IS A FOURTH DIMENSION GAINED BY PRAYER AND COMMUNICATION WITH GOD.

1. THERE IS A SPIRITUAL LEVEL AND WE MUST CONNECT WITH

GOD’S WORD ON A SPIRITUAL LEVEL.

a. We come to God with a sure foundation of His Word.

b. We cannot compromise or dilute God’s word.

c. The word of God does the work of God, and we must come in harmony and unity and align with God’s Holy Word.

d. The center of a healthy Christian walk must bring our spiritual being and submit to God’s purpose and plan.

e. We must focus on the word and accept the challenge that there is more to serving the Lord than what the eyes can see.

2. WE MUST BRING OUR BEHAVIORAL PATTERNS OF WORDS, ATTITUDES

AND ACTIONS TO THE LIGHT OF THE HOLY SPIRIT!

a. Many people talk a good talk, but their daily behavior patterns are poor examples to others.

b. We must hold ourselves accountable in our giving, attendance, actions, attitudes, and words.

c. Do we correct bad habits, will we gladly receive correction and rebuke?

d. We must not be selfish and all our habits, attitudes, and perspectives must willfully submit to our spiritual duties.

3. TO COME TO GOD AND TOUCH OTHER PEOPLE WE MUST GET A GRASP OF OUR EMOTIONS. YOUR EMOTIONAL LEVEL OF REACTION TO LIFE’S REALITY AND PROBLEMS WILL SHOW A GREAT LIGHT OR WILL ILLUSTRATE A WEAK POWER RESERVE.

a. Often times a person carries many scars of hurt and disappointment.

These scars can affect the way we respond to crisis and troubles.

b. Anger and loneliness dictate many peoples actions and reactions.

c. Unforgiveness drives many people and we see little emotional control,

then we wonder why people look at us this way?

d. We must find MEANING IN SUFFERING.

f. We need good communication skills and we need EMOTIONAL BOUNDARIES clearly developed in our hearts.

4. WE MUST COME TO GOD AND BRING OUR LEVELS OF RELATIONSHIP TO THE SHADOW OF THE CROSS.

a. We are social beings.

b. We need to be in a community, as no person is an island to themselves.

c. People that have been hurt often develop distrusting spirits and they

have sick, unhealthy relationships with other people.

d. We need the family and we need the church if we grow and develop properly.

e. The world knows: Birds of a feather flock together.

The Bible teaches BE NOT UNEQUALLY YOKED.

f. I have seen many young person fall beneath their potential by rushing into sexual relationships, and dropping out of their educational process selling them self far short of their potential by seeking pleasure and now gratification.

5. THEN THERE IS A PHYSICAL LEVELHOW WE APPROACH OTHER PEOPLE.

a. One of the last accepted discrimination areas is judging fat people.

b. I saw in a Christian book store a booklet:

GOD DOES NOT WANT ANY FAT PEOPLE.

This book is wrong. God does not look on the externals.

c. Samuel looked at Eliab.

I Samuel 16: 6 And it came to pass, when they were come, that he looked on Eliab, and said, Surely the Lord’s anointed is before him.

7 But the Lord said unto Samuel, LOOK NOT ON HIS COUNTENANCE, OR ON THE HEIGHT OF HIS STATURE; because I refuse him: for the Lord sees not as man sees, for man looks on the outward appearance, but the Lord LOOKS ON THE HEART!

d. We cannot refuse to love people with body piercing, tattoos, long hair, no hair.

e. We think they are not like us, therefore I do not have to accept them.

6. LET US TAKE THE WHOLE AND BE WHOLE.

Ephesians 6:11 Put on the WHOLE armor of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.

Wholeness comes in adversity and suffering.

David faced a bear, and a lion, before he ever faced Goliath.

God’s best work and wholeness comes in facing times of adversity.

We want wholeness without adversity.

Small test, small faith, small wholeness.

This adversity will bring great opportunity.
