1. The Lord wants to give us rest and peace from persecution and tribulation.
The Lord promises peace and rest to His people. The early church went through a period of great persecution and tribulation . But the Lord brought that period to an end and granted rest to His people .The Lord wants to do the same for His people and His church . He wants to grant His people rest and peace and tranquility from all the persecution and tribulation that they have been enduring in the past . He wants to give us rest and respite from the battles that we have faced in the past . He wants to put an end to the continuous attacks of the enemy that we have been facing for so long.
2. The Lord wants us to be edified and grow spiritually.
The Lord wants to give us rest and peace and joy and a refreshing and a renewed strength to serve Him. He wants us to be edified and grow close to Him in our spiritual walk with Him . The Lord wants us to be transformed in our life and character and he wants us to grow into the image of Christ . Then we will reflect the nature of Christ in this dark and sinful world . When the Lord delivers us and grants us victory in our battles we should not forget the goodness of the Lord . We should not become spiritually lethargic .Instead we should grow closer to the Lord who has granted us peace and rest.
3. The Lord wants us to walk in the fear of the Lord.
The Lord wants us to walk in the fear of the Lord instead of living in the fear of the enemy. The fear of the Lord will cause us to depart from evil. We will experience great blessings when we fear the Lord . Our prayers will be answered . Our family will be blessed . Angels will be protecting us . The Lord reveal His covenant blessings to us.The promises of God will be fulfilled in our lives . We will have divine wisdom and prosperity and a long life. We will receive great eternal rewards on the day of judgement.
4. The Lord wants us to walk in the comfort of the Holy Ghost.
The Lord wants us to walk in the comfort of the Holy Ghost . The Holy Spirit is the Divine Comforter who comforts us in all our tribulation. The Holy Spirit will heal our broken hearts and heal all the wounds in our spirit that had been caused by the trials and tribulations that we have faced . He will revive our tired spirits that have become weary due to the continuous attacks of the enemy.
5. The Lord wants to multiply and grow in numbers.
The Lord wants to prosper us and cause us to grow and multiply and enlarge our borders . He wants to grant us success and prosperity . He wants to remove the state of stagnancy and lack of growth from our lives . Instead He wants us to grow rapidly and multiply .
The Lord promises us peace and rest . The GREEK word for REST is EIRENE which denotes the absence or end of strife . It denotes a state of untroubled , undisturbed well-being.
