TRUST IN THE LORD
TRUST – Something committed in the care of another. To rely or depend on. To assume into another’s care. To believe.
Proverbs3:5-6
5] Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.
[6] In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.
Trust the Lord not yourself and your own understanding.
Pray and give it to the Lord then don’t think about it.
Don’t try to figure it out because that’s leaning to your own understanding.
He, not us, will direct our paths.
The Lord will show us what to do.
Jeremiah 17:5-8
[5] Thus saith the LORD; Cursed be the man that trusteth in man, and maketh flesh his arm, and whose heart departeth from the LORD.
[6] For he shall be like the heath in the desert, and shall not see when good cometh; but shall inhabit the parched places in the wilderness, in a salt land and not inhabited.
[7] Blessed is the man that trusteth in the LORD, and whose hope the LORD is.
[8] For he shall be as a tree planted by the waters, and that spreadeth out her roots by the river, and shall not see when heat cometh, but her leaf shall be green; and shall not be careful in the year of drought, neither shall cease from yielding fruit.
If we place our trust in man we are cursed.
We will be in dry desert place, a wilderness alone.
We won’t even see opportunities of good
If we trust in the Lord we are blessed.
We don’t see the heat.
We won’t be bothered by trouble when it comes along.
Even in drought (times of financial hardship) we will not cease from being fruitful (prospering).
If our trust is in the Lord we will prosper even in times of heat and drought.
Daniel 6:16-23
16] Then the king commanded, and they brought Daniel, and cast him into the den of lions. Now the king spake and said unto Daniel, Thy God whom thou servest continually, he will deliver thee.
[17] And a stone was brought and laid upon the mouth of the den; and the king sealed it with his own signet, and with the signet of his lords; that the purpose might not be changed concerning Daniel.
[18] Then the king went to his palace, and passed the night fasting: neither were instruments of musick brought before him: and his sleep went from him.
[19] Then the king arose very early in the morning, and went in haste unto the den of lions.
[20] And when he came to the den, he cried with a lamentable voice unto Daniel: and the king spake and said to Daniel, O Daniel, servant of the living God, is thy God, whom thou servest continually, able to deliver thee from the lions?
[21] Then said Daniel unto the king, O king, live for ever.
[22] My God hath sent his angel, and hath shut the lions’ mouths, that they have not hurt me: forasmuch as before him innocency was found in me; and also before thee, O king, have I done no hurt.
[23] Then was the king exceeding glad for him, and commanded that they should take Daniel up out of the den. So Daniel was taken up out of the den, and no manner of hurt was found upon him, because he believed in his God.
Because he trusted God no harm came to him.
Just like the tree no harm came to Daniel because of trust in the Lord.
Daniel didn’t try to figure out how to keep him out of the den or once he was in the den he didn’t try to figure out how to get out. He just trusted the Lord
The King recognized what Daniel’s God could do for him.
John 14:1
[1] Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me.
Trust in God is not a choice it’s a commandment from God.
We are not to be troubled about things.
We are to be in trust.
You can’t be in both.
If you’re trusting you’re not in troubled.
If you’re troubled you are not trusting.
