Summary: Does God really care? Yes, God knows them already before it becomes our concern.

INTRODUCTION

Yes! God cares about your needs. Before your needs become your cares, it is God’s concern already. He knows your needs!

You praise your earthly father when he is a good provider. A good earthly father will always be concern of taking care of his children’s need. God, our heavenly is far greater than any father on earth. He is your creator.

What you must do in order that all your needs will surely comes to you?

I. BE NOT LIKE THE HEATHEN HYPOCRITES, 5-8

A. Public Pretenders, 5-6

When you pray, don’t be like those show-offs who love to stand up and pray in the meeting places and on the street corners. They do this just to look good. I can assure you that they already have their reward. (CEV)

B. Reward-conscious People, 7

They do this just to look good. I can assure you that they already have their reward. (CEV)

This kind of people is not really concern of their spirituality. They do not understand God and they do not seek God. Most of us before are like this kind of people. This is the reason why we don’t receive the answers to our needs. Then, we don’t experience the cares of God.

II. BE HONEST IN YOUR HUMILITY, 6, 9-13

A. Pray in Secret Places

B. Present Yourself to God (not to the people)

1. Insufficiency—needs, 11, 13

2. Imperfection—sins and weaknesses, 11-13

CONCLUSION

Our self-centeredness hinders us to experience God’s cares. Too much focus on self fails us to see God’s power at work in our life. From conception to birth, from birth to death and from death to eternity, God cares for our needs.

Our very important need that God took care of with His great love and concern is our salvation. He sent His own son to die for our sins. Sin disorients us about God. This disorientation makes us alien to God’s care.
