Education: I just graduated from Missouri Baptist College in St. Louis. I am getting ready to start classes at Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary.
Sermon or series that made a difference: James Merritt, Pastor of First Baptist Church of Snellville, Georgia and current president of the Southern Baptist Convention did a series of messages of evangelism entitled "The Harvest." These sermons have shaped much of my thinking and effort in reaching people for Christ.
Family: I am single, but have a incredible girlfriend. Her name is Andrea Stovall. Not only is she a babe, but better than that, she is a godly woman.
What my parents think of my sermons: From the first time I preached that 5 minute, stuttered "masterpiece" until now, I think they have liked every message.
Best advice given to me about preaching: Jeff MacDonald, Pastor of Calvary Baptist Church in Granite City advised me to focus on mainly on two things - Preach the Word and Love the people.
Al Fasol wrote in his book on preaching that a preacher can only preach as well as he can pray.
