About Barry
  • Education: I am currently a student at Memphis Theological Seminary.
  • Experience: I have been preaching for nearly 7years now. You can learn a lot in a 7 year period.
  • Comment to those looking at my sermons: I tend to use alot of humor in my sermons because that is my personality. I also gather as much information from other sources to use in my sermons. I hope they are of some use to you.
  • Family: I have a beautiful wife who has put up with me for nearly 8 years. She is the mother of my three daughters, Clarissa who is 6and Carrie who is 4 and Savannah who is almost 2.
  • Best advice given to me about preaching: My Chaplian aboard the ship I was on when I heard my calling in the Navy told me, "God’s called you to be a preacher, don’t stoop to being a king."
  • Books that have had an impact: Bob Russell’s book, "When God Builds a Church". It totally transformed my thinking of the church.
  • Hobbies: I love sports. Football, basketball, and especially Nascar. I am also a die hard University of Kentucky fan, which makes living in Mississippi difficult at times.
  • If I could Preach one more time, I would say...: I know the way to Heaven, let me introduce you to Him.
  • Something funny that happened while preaching: A young girl in our church went into labor during the service. What made this real funny was that it started during the service, but she waited until the end to leave because as she said, "I didn’t want to make the preacher mad." I thought I seemed pretty nice.
