About Billy
  • Education: Billy Bob has a BA in Ministry from Dallas Christian College, a MS in counseling and a MCJ from the University of Central Texas.
  • Experience: Billy Bob preached his first sermon at the age of 14 at the Central Christian Church in Richardson, TEXAS. He did supply preaching while in High School and held several student ministries in Texas and Louisianna while at Dallas Christian College. He served with his father, the late Dr. Bob J. Cox, as a associate evangelist of TEXAS Evangelism, assisting in starting new churches in Texas and was the first minister of Woodland Christian Church in Timpson, TEXAS. From Timpson he moved to Florence, Colorado and worked in revitalizing a struggling older congregation. While there he worked to to support himself in industrial security and private investigations. He also became involved as Chaplain of the Fremont County Sherrif’s Office. In 1980 he began working in childcare in Texas and has been bi-vocation, working as a childcare administrator and consultant to churches and non-profits, while preaching in Waco, Taylor, Hutto and Belton, Texas.
  • Family: Billy Bob is married to Beverly and they have three daughters and 9 grandchildren.
  • Best advice given to me about preaching: Never stir up more snakes than you can kill with one stick.
  • What I want on my tombstone: I donated my body to medical science.
