  • Comment to those looking at my sermons: As with any preacher, do not take sermons at face value. All truth comes from the Holy Spirit. When you read my sermons ask God to reveal the timeless truth that is in the message. God gives the inspiration of the message and revelation of its relevance for each hearer.
  • Sermon or series that made a difference: Jonah Running from Grace 12 Characteristics of a healthy Church Philippians: Finding Joy in fearful times
  • One of my favorite illustrations: Corrie Ten Boom in The Hiding Place relates an incident that taught her always to be thankful. She and her sister, Betsy had just been transferred to the worst German prison camp they had seen yet, Ravensbruck. On entering the barracks, they found them extremely overcrowded and flea-infested. That morning, their Scipture reading in 1 Thesolonians had reminded them to rejoice always, pray constantly, and give thanks in all circumstances. • Best advice given to me about preaching: Make sure that God is in your preperation so that you will know He is in your presentation.
  • Books that have had an impact: Franis Chan's Crazy love -- Given me a hunger to abandon myself more completely to the lover of my soul. Ravi Zacharias Beyond Opinion "If this conversion is so supernatural, why is it not more obvious in the lives of Christians I know?" Asked of Ravi by a hindu friend. We don't live by our opinion but by His grace!
  • Hobbies: Bowling, Reading Great Preachers Stories and Sermons Golf (once a year whether I need it or not) CS Lewis, and JRR Tolkien books
  • If I could Preach one more time, I would say...: The time is near dear friends Come to Jesus
  • Something funny that happened while preaching: Used a soda can as an illustration that Satan can put pressure on us but never crush us if we are full of the Holy Spirit. Soda can was full and supported my entire weight (210) However I started stomping the can to illustrate that Satan can injure us but never destroy us if Jesus lives in us. The can developed a pin hole leak and had to be taken away by my wife.
  • What I want on my tombstone: Slave of God who finished well.
