About Bruce
  • Education: I attended Dayspring Ministries Bible and Theological Seminary as well as becoming certified through the American Baptist Associations Certificate in Ministry program.
  • Experience: I have taught a weekly Advanced Adult Bible Study course in my home since 2000 covering many topics from understanding God’s will in our lives to Theological study of Old and New Testament Man. I served as an Elder for four years, then Interim Pastor at the First Baptist Church in Tawas City Michigan from 2004 - 2006. I am now the Senior Pastor at The House of Faith Church in East Tawas Michigan.
  • Comment to those looking at my sermons: Don’t just take my sermons at face value, or anyone elses for that matter. Search the word, cross reference and seek for yourself. These sermons are for reference, and they in no way replace true study. WE must study to show ourselves approved!
  • Sermon or series that made a difference: I’m not sure. I have heard so many sermons it would be very difficult to say which individual one made the biggest impact in my life.
  • One of my favorite illustrations: My wife and I had prayed for God to increase her faith in trusting Him about her finances by any means He needed. A few days later her purse was stolen from a local theater with all of her check books, and credit cards in it. She immediately exercised her faith in its return in an unharmed condition. Later that evening it was found with all of its contents untouched.
  • Family: My wife and I have 6 children and 4 grandchildren! (Praise God!) Starting with our oldest child, Lori, Jennifer, Kelly, Eric and Trenton, and Rebekah, who joined us in March of 2004! Our grandchildren are Austin, Elana, Aiden and Isaac. We are very blessed.
  • What my parents think of my sermons: My mother enjoys them alot. My father left when I was young, and he knows I am a Pastor, but he has not had the opportunity to hear any of my sermons yet. Hopefully one day he will.
  • What my spouse (really) thinks of my sermons: She enjoys them quite a bit. I sometimes feel like there is so much to try and fit in to so little time. I always feel like I could have said more, or afterwords more verses will come into my mind I could have used. But she tells me exactly what she feels about them to help me keep short, and to the point.
  • Best advice given to me about preaching: Stick to the scripture in instruction, and relate it to your personal life experience for illustration. Then it will truly be a sermon from your heart.
  • Books that have had an impact: "So what’s the difference" by Fritz Ridenour. This book is a wonderful reference for those interested in finding out what the difference really is between what God wants us to believe, and what some of the other major religions out there believe.
  • Hobbies: I devote all my time to study, the ministry, the church and my family. I guess you could say that searching God’s word is my hobby because I truly enjoy that the most! I wrote my first book in 2004 entitled ’Heaven & Hell: A Study of Old and New Testament Man’, then later wrote the HOFC Minister's Manual.
  • If I could Preach one more time, I would say...: God loves you so much and wants to be with you that He died for YOUR sins so that you may be forgiven and spend eternity with Him!
