  • Comment to those looking at my sermons: I am elated that God has lead you to check out this message. I hope you were inspired and lead to a deeper understanding in your purpose on earth. I pray that you continue doing what God has created you to do and I pray that your light will help others find their light!
  • Sermon or series that made a difference: "Will You Continue to Let Your Cup Pass" This is a sermon that I preached using Luke 29:39-42. Using the illustration of Jesus wanting to let his cup pass (Dying on the cross for our sins) It was something that he didnt want to do but He was designed and destined for it. Many times we have things to do that we don't want to do. And we must do them in order to fulfill our purpose and move to the next level in our life! But how long will we keep avoiding the thing we need to do most!
  • One of my favorite illustrations: My favorite illustration is using the piƱata to illustrate an evangelistic approach of Faith, Hope and Love!
  • Family: Carlos is married to Sparkle Jones who is pregnant with their first born child.
  • What my parents think of my sermons: My father thinks I do great job of setting a vision and showing the parishioners how to attain it. My mother loves my teaching strategies and ways to keep the congregation involved. They both have a great part in the way I preach becasue I am a combination of my dad the preacher and my mom the teacher!
  • What my spouse (really) thinks of my sermons: My wife says I do a great job every week. If she doesn't say anything it was okay, but if she says something, she really liked it.
  • Best advice given to me about preaching: If you prepare well, then God can use you extemporaneously when you stand to preach. Do your best and let God do the rest! Learn the sheep before you preach!
  • Books that have had an impact: The Bible by God'schosen authors :) The Humanity of God by Karl Barth Faith Seekng Understanding by Daniel Migliore Understanding God by Dorothee Solle Outwitting the Devil by Napoleon Hill Kings and Queens of Prosperity by E.S. Young The Secret by Rhonda Byrne The Enneagram made easy by Renee Baron The 21 Indespensable qualities of a leader by Max Lucado
  • Hobbies: Pastor Carlos II loves to lift weights, bike riding, reading and studying psychology, redecorating his enviroment and creating new inventions to enhance his life and others around him.
  • If I could Preach one more time, I would say...: God's instructions on the way we live will not have any productivity in our life if we do not obey. God has an inheritance of a very fulfilled life while we are on earth. If we listen and love God and our neighbor as we love ourselves then whatever we do will have goood intentions and we will walk through this life with a joy that is unexplainable.
  • Something funny that happened while preaching: While starting up my churhc in the home. I was in the midst of preaching and the home phone began to ring. Only to hear my assistant Pastor on the other end trying to carry on a regular conversation. I said we are in the middle of service, he was not aware of the time and thought we had'nt started yet because he was on his way to preach at another church out of town. He was shocked and rushed off of the phone apologetically. I had to implement that into my sermon since the was right behind me.
  • What I want on my tombstone: Lived my life and helped others live their life through Christ!
