About Curt
  • Education: I graduated in 1991 from the United States Military Academy, West Point, New York. I later attended Concordia Seminary, St. Louis, Missouri, graduating in 2001. I’m now working on a Doctor of Ministry degree with a concentration in military chaplaincy.
  • Experience: I served four years as an infantry officer. I later worked for two years as a computer programmer/systems analyst. I planted a church from 2001-2007. Now I’m off to the Air Force to serve as a chaplain.
  • Sermon or series that made a difference: "Saved to Save" has really challenged many Christians to put their money and time where their mouth is. I’ve gotten numerous comments, cards and letters in response. They’ve all been positive!
  • One of my favorite illustrations: Walt Disney movie Hercules and its similarities to the life of Christ.
  • Family: My wife, Linda, and I have a wonderful son, Andrew.
  • Best advice given to me about preaching: We are in the GOOD news business.
  • Books that have had an impact: The Israel of God in Prophecy by Hans LaRondelle
  • Hobbies: Sports!
  • Something funny that happened while preaching: I was talking about a funeral and how all the cars are lined up to go to the cemetery. I accidentally said "seminary" instead of "cemetery." However, some people are so dry that they’ve been accused of dying before they go to teach at seminaries :)
