About David
  • Education: I went to three different colleges and did one year at each, then for my fourth year I finished my degree online.
  • Experience: I was the pastor at the same church that my wife and I started for 43 years. We have recently retired in 2021. We really had a lot of fun pastoring this church. We have seen God do so many amazing things, but the best of all has been watching God save, heal and restore so many people over the years.
  • Comment to those looking at my sermons: I don't take myself too seriously, sometimes I like to joke around a bit. For some reason I have this unique gift of coming up with eye catching titles! Although I am very serious about taking the Bible literally as God's Word!
  • Sermon or series that made a difference: Super Heroes The names of God, The seven letters to the seven churches, Signs of the Times, Your money counts, Doing the right thing the wrong way
  • One of my favorite illustrations: I loved using my bow to shoot an arrow across the stage at a target to illustrate what sin is all about. Great sermon!
  • Family: I have been married to my wife for 48 years. We have six grown children. They have been a blessing to raise. We now have 12 grandchildren and love being grandparents.
  • What my parents think of my sermons: They have always encouraged me and were members of my church until they both died.
  • What my spouse (really) thinks of my sermons: I can tell when she thinks what I said is good, because after the sermon she will ask me, "Did you come up with that yourself?" Of course, I always tell her all of my material is "original!"
  • Best advice given to me about preaching: Don’t preach too long, always leave people wanting more! Currently I am doing a 1-2 minute podcast 1X a week. You should check them out. "Pastor Dave DIY Podcast" You will love the titles!
  • Books that have had an impact: Wild at Heart, Good to Great, Pilgrims Progress, The Kingdom of God is a party, This Present Darkness, Mere Christianity
  • Hobbies: I love to fly fish, especially for steelhead trout and salmon! I also love to hunt for deer with my bow, smoke ribs and brisket, make marinara sauce and wine!
  • If I could Preach one more time, I would say...: Love God and love your neighbor
  • Something funny that happened while preaching: Wow, I have had many funny things happen while I have preached. We often have "special" guests come and visit with us, these are often our own people in costumes and during the short interviews they have said and done some very funny things. We have had Pres. Bush, Elvis Presly, most of the super heroes, the Easter Bunny, Santa Claus and just hundreds of other special guests over the years.
  • What I want on my tombstone: He loved God, served people and enjoyed His life.
