• One of my favorite illustrations: I think that every instance in human life is a living illustration. If a person looks hard enough and pays attention there is an example in everything we do.
• Family: One wife, one daughter, one family farm.
• What my parents think of my sermons: My Mommy cries every time I send her a tape. I think she’s proud of me or something.
• What my spouse (really) thinks of my sermons: I’ll let my wife answer that: I think my husbands sermons are informative, inspirational and positive. He has leaven like zeal. Maybe he tells too many jokes but I love him anyway. Cynthia Doherty
• Best advice given to me about preaching: Don’t try to make anyone happy. God comes first, making people happy comes second. Obedience to the word and the spirit takes priority. Don’t hold back. The ministry of the Holy Spirit is more effective when you’re giving your all. If you can’t live it, don’t preach it. Don’t give up!! You can do all things through he who strengthens you.

• Hobbies: Cutting firewood and horseback riding.
• If I could Preach one more time, I would say...: Just love one another, just give love to all.
• Something funny that happened while preaching: At the Lords supper I always have four points I like to address before we partake. Rejoice, remember, reconcile, repent. On one Sunday I soared through the first three and froze. I couldn’t remember number four. So I covered my mistaken by saying, "Today there are only three r’s we are going to reflect on." People are still teasing me about that.
