About David
  • Education: My scolastic eduation was received in Ottawa and Toronto, Ontario Canada, where I was born and raised. I graduated from Free Gospel Bible Institute www.fgbi.org in Pennsylvania in 1987. I have been in active ministry since then.
  • Experience: My wife and I evangelized for 6 years during the summers doing Kid’s crusades and preaching youth camps. We were involved in Christian education during those years. We then took a pastorate in El Mirage, AZ for 8 years (just outside Phoenix), and now in our 2nd pastorate in Kansas City (since 2002).
  • Comment to those looking at my sermons: Some sermons may seem a little hard, but you can preach a hard message with the right attitude. That’s what makes the difference. People will accept the truth even though God’s word may be like a hammer, they will accept it if delivered with a right spirit.
  • Sermon or series that made a difference: My home pastor, Rev. Joey Hight, preached a message called Knocked down, but not out. He used Micah 7:8 Rejoice not against me, O mine enemy: when I fall, I shall arise; when I sit in darkness, the LORD shall be a light unto me. Satan has tried to knock me down many a time, but God has always enabled me to get back up.
  • Family: I married a wonderful southern girl from Missouri in 1988. We have 1 daughter born in 1994.
  • What my parents think of my sermons: My parents and inlaws are wonderful supporters of our ministry, and thus they really like my sermons.
  • What my spouse (really) thinks of my sermons: My wife brags on me too much I think. Even when I bomb, she generally has something positive to say about the sermon.
  • Best advice given to me about preaching: When you take the pulpit, don’t apologize for not being equal to other preachers present. I was told, You are God’s man for that hour.
  • Books that have had an impact: Pentecost by Rev. Ralph C. Horner
  • Hobbies: Web design, playing saxaphone, fishing.
  • If I could Preach one more time, I would say...: I would say to all preachers both young and seasoned... Preach like your pants are on fire.
  • Something funny that happened while preaching: I missed a step coming off the platform and fell flat on my face.
  • What I want on my tombstone: A Preacher unashamed of the Word of God
