About Don
  • Education: B.A. Major in Religious Education M.Div. Theology Ph.D. Biblical Studies
  • Experience: Thirty plus years a pastor. Taught for a number of years as adjunct professor for Baptist college and seminary.
  • Comment to those looking at my sermons: You will notice that I spend a good bit of my time looking at what the actual words mean. That is where the meat is!
  • Sermon or series that made a difference: Jeremiah
  • One of my favorite illustrations: About the deacon who was furious about the revival going on in the church, and all those people going to the altar to pray. He was pulled there by two young people. It changed his life. He said, "You know preacher, some men ought not to be running down things they know nothing about." Amen.
  • Family: Wife: Leslie
  • What my parents think of my sermons: They are both gone now, but they were great encouragers.
  • What my spouse (really) thinks of my sermons: What would one expect? She thinks I am the best she has ever heard.
  • Best advice given to me about preaching: Always stay true to the text.
  • Books that have had an impact: Too many to list.
  • Hobbies: Writing
  • If I could Preach one more time, I would say...: God is greater than any of us can imagine.
  • What I want on my tombstone: God was able and faithful!
