  • Comment to those looking at my sermons: Always try to read them or hear them through your spiritual eyes or ears and ask God to reveal to you what He wants you to see or hear. Also, consider that what is written is not always exactly what is said during delivery because the Spirit speaks before, during and after the preaching. Just keep in mind that these sermons were delivered within a particular context and to a specific audience.
  • Sermon or series that made a difference: Spurgeon’s sermon collection T.D. Jakes (various)
  • One of my favorite illustrations: The devil and his yard sale.
  • Family: Married to Stephanie for 30 years. Six children - 4 boys and 2 girl and one daughter-in-law. Ages range from 16 - 27 years old.-
  • What my parents think of my sermons: Often well prepared and presented, anointed and a blessing and encouragement to them and others
  • What my spouse (really) thinks of my sermons: Thinks that I can use more illustrations and less theology at times, but she thinks that I am one of the best and most exciting expositors she knows (my words now- you have to ask her what she thinks - well she has heard more of my sermons than anyone else and she keeps coming- LOL).
  • Best advice given to me about preaching: Pray before, during and after preparation
  • Books that have had an impact: Mere Christianity - C.S Lewis. The Safest place on Earth - Larry Crabb The Intolerance of Tolerance - D.A .Carson
  • Hobbies: Reading Travelling Dominoes
  • If I could Preach one more time, I would say...: If you hear my voice today, harden not your heart. Choose you this day whom you will serve Seek the Lord while He may be found
  • Something funny that happened while preaching: The electricity went out one night and I had to preach in the dark. It was about 9 p.m. I had written notes but it was of no use to me.
  • What I want on my tombstone: Here lies a man who strived to do all that God had created him to do and now there is nothing left for him to do. May be hear his Master say,
