  • Experience: I have served as Pastor or Assoicate Pastor in 8 different churches over my nearly 30 years of ministry. I also have served 4 years as a Hospice Chaplain. I served as a VFD chaplain for 15 yrs

  • Sermon or series that made a difference: As a young minister, sermons on the life of Moses seemed to have more of an impact on me that anything.
  • One of my favorite illustrations: I have an illustration about showing my son his new bedroom in a new home. I had everything prepared in Nascar because he was a huge fan. I took him around the house then told him to stay there. I ran upstairs and made sure everything was just right. I came back down and told him to close his eyes and follow me.   • Family: I am married and have 4 sons and 1 daughter
  • What my parents think of my sermons: My parents have been very proud of my ministry. My mother is gone now, but she always told me I was her favorite preacher. I don’t think she was biased at all. My dad still comes to hear me preach and tells me he really enjoys hearing me preach.
  • What my spouse (really) thinks of my sermons: My wife tells me she loves hearing me preach. I tell her she is prejudiced.
  • Best advice given to me about preaching: Stick to the word and don’t preach on hobbies. Love everybody and judge nobody.
  • Books that have had an impact: The Purpose Driven Church and the Purpose Driven Life by Rick Warren
  • Hobbies: I love computers and electronics
  • If I could Preach one more time, I would say...: Don’t ever give up. We serve a God who does the impossbile. Pray, it is the key to Jesus.
  • Something funny that happened while preaching: I was preaching one Sunday morning about the explosive power of God. In the middle of the sermon we heard a large bang. The women screamed. The men jumped up and began looking around. I noticed the cross that was on the podium was lying on the floor. I stepped around front of the podium and saw that the curved wood had decided to split with a large bang, shotting the cross of it right in the middle of my sermon.
