About Fred
  • Education: Pastor Parker speaks proudly of having his Kn.D. from the Universal School of Hard Knocks. He received this while pastoring for the past 27 years.
  • Experience: Pastor Parker is an ordained minister with the United Pentecostal Church International and has formerly served as the Home Missions Secretary for the Mississippi District of the United Pentecostal Church International as well as Section 6 Secretary for the Mississippi District UPCI. He has served his community as the Chaplain of the Police Department in Pelahatchie, Mississippi for the past six years.
  • Comment to those looking at my sermons: My prayer is that the Holy Spirit will use this sermon to annoint and inspire you in some way. May God bless you as you thrust in the sickle.
  • Sermon or series that made a difference: He is the author of many published articles as well as the coauthor of the new book "2nd Chance" which is being used in the Juvenile Court Systems of both Mississippi and Alabama. This book is being widely accepted in developing positive character attributes in juveniles in Australia and Russia and across the United States as well. He is currently writing a second book "The Prodigal Goes Home" about his sons life and brutal murder. His third book, "Angels All Around Us" is a book of spiritual strength and overcoming due to his wife’s near death in a tragic automobile accident six months after his sons body was recovered.
  • One of my favorite illustrations: Rudyard Kiplings poem "If"
  • Family: Pastor Parker felt is call to the ministry in 1974 during a revival in rural community of Laughlin, Arkansas. After several years of intense training he began pastoring in 1980. Pastor Parker married Rebecca Sue in 1971. They have a daughter Mitze and son-in-law Scott who have given them their first grandchild Kaylee. Their son Dustin Sean Parker was brutally murdered in 1998. They still miss his cheerful smile and laughter each day. Reverend and Mrs. Parker came to serve as the pastor of the First Apostolic Church in May of 1995. Since coming to Pelahatchie we have seen the Lord perform many miracles including over 100 people receiving the "New Birth" experience. Pastor and Mrs. Parker have been used mightily in impacting our community and sharing the message of repentance, baptism by immersion in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sin, and the infilling of the Holy Spirit. (See Acts 2:38; John 3:1-10)
  • What my parents think of my sermons: Inspired and annointed by the Spirit of God.
  • What my spouse (really) thinks of my sermons: She thinks I am the greatest preacher on earth. Of course she has never lived nor loved any other.
  • Best advice given to me about preaching: Rev. J. T. Pugh "Remember, Brother Parker, It came to pass...it did not come to stay."
  • Books that have had an impact: All of Max Lucado’s books are an inspiration.
  • Hobbies: Pastor and Mrs. Parker are both avid singers and musicians. They have two projects "My Best To You" by Sister Becky and both Pastor and Mrs.Parker "For The Friend’s Of The Master." Both projects are Southern Gospel genre.
  • If I could Preach one more time, I would say...: Love not the world neither the things in the world. All of that we see, touch, taste, hear, or smell is proof that we have not yet been redeemed. Eternity is not based in our human senses nor reasoning it is based on our obedience to the great "I AM"--Jesus Christ!" __ E. Fred Parker (c) 2007
  • Something funny that happened while preaching: While refering my congregation to my text on Sunday morning I started to say turn in your Bibles to Zechariah and suddenly remembered that I was wanting to turn to Daniel so I said, "Zech...Daniel." One of the elders abruptly turned to my sife and asked, "Did Brother Parker say ’Jack Daniels’?" to which she replied, "Yes." This happened some twenty years ago and is still one of the most hilarious things in our household.
  • What I want on my tombstone: When you met him, you met Jesus Christ!
