About Geoff
  • Experience: I trained in music, and have been a Youth Worker prior to ordained ministry. These aspects are still important to me in my ministry.
  • Comment to those looking at my sermons: please feel free to use whatever inspires you, giving God the glory for the way He is working
  • Sermon or series that made a difference: Sermons that have made the most difference to me have not necessarily been the most theologically accurate, or the best delivered, but those where God’s anointing by His Spirit is so strong. Passion and the Holy Spirit are a formidable combination!
  • One of my favorite illustrations: ’The apple’: Cut open a apple, and take out a small seed. It seems such an insignificant thing, and yet has massive potential to become an apple tree and produce a huge amount of fruit.
  • Family: Liz and I married in 1999 - we have no children, but a cat called Wesley (preaching is a shared gift!)
  • Best advice given to me about preaching: Be yourself! God gives us gifts in preaching, but has also created us with unique personalities and gifts. These are just as important in preaching - God uses our whole being and personality in communicating His truths to those who listen (and to those who don’t!) Consistent with who we are
  • Hobbies: Sportwise, I love playing squash and golf. I try to keep fit by going to the gym, with varying success! I love music (broad tastes), food (good tastes), cinema & theatre (popcorn taste), and socialising with friends (amazing taste!).
  • If I could Preach one more time, I would say...: Something that would make an impact I think that every preach should give a challenge or encouragement, and above all initiate some sort of response - otherwise it’s just a collection of words.
  • What I want on my tombstone: Someone who showed Jesus
