About Gordon
  • Experience: Areas of work: Preaching, Bible teaching, outreach to men, youth & children's work.
  • Comment to those looking at my sermons: Quote: Philip Brooks said, "Preaching is truth delivered through personality" - I trust you can take some of my study & work and as you make it your own, that it will be a blessing to others.
  • Sermon or series that made a difference: Any: George Verwer / Leonard Ravenhill / Stuart Briscoe / Charles Price / RT Kendall / J Sidlow Baxter / Charles Swindoll /
  • One of my favorite illustrations: Dvd Clips: Are you Amazed? The Crowd or the Cross & Thats My King - clips from Sermon Spice. Our Greatest Need If our greatest need had been information, God would have sent us an educator. If your greatest need had been technology, God would have sent us a scientist. If our greatest need had been money, God would have sent us an economist. If our greatest need had been pleasure, God would have sent us an entertainer. But our greatest need was forgiveness, so God sent us a Savior.
  • Family: Gordon & Penny have two children: Katherine (17/12/00) Arlo (25/12/02)
  • Best advice given to me about preaching: Know your audience - who am I speaking to? Claim your ground - make sure you are comfortable i.e. lecturn if needed, projector and laptop working etc. Good eye contact with those you are speaking to. Prepare well! Trust God to honour the preachinmg of his word through the power of the Holy Spirit.
  • Books that have had an impact: Any: Charles Swindoll / FB Meyer / G. Campbell Morgan / John Bunyan / Warren Wiersbe
  • Hobbies: Football (UK), Manchester United FC, Bob Dylan, playing squash & swimming.
  • If I could Preach one more time, I would say...: John 3:16 Romans 1:16-17 John 14:6
