About Greg
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in education from Eastern Kentucky Univ. Master’s degree in middle school social studies from Eastern Kentucky Univ. Rank 1 in educational administration
  • Experience: I have been a senior minister for 12 years.
  • Comment to those looking at my sermons: I hope that you see my heart for Christ and the passion with which I try to convey the greatest stories ever told and the truth that will set us all free.
  • Sermon or series that made a difference: "One Home at a Time" - Sermon on taking a stand to save our families from the increasing immorality of this world. I never get tired of hearing the story of Christ’s crucifixion and ascension from the tomb!
  • Family: My wife’s name is Dana and we have two sons -- one in middle school and the other in high school.
  • What my parents think of my sermons: I could stand behind the podium and recite the pledge of allegiance and my parents would think it was wonderful.
  • What my spouse (really) thinks of my sermons: My wife is extremely supportive and reaffirms me all the time that preaching is my spiritual gift.
  • Best advice given to me about preaching: "Keep it down to 20 minutes." (Actually, that’s not very good advice, but about the only advice I ever remember getting.)
  • Books that have had an impact: Disciplines of a Godly Man - Kent Hughes One Home at a Time - Dennis Rainey
  • Hobbies: Sports- I used to play them, but seems I tend to watch them and read about them more than anything anymore. I love U of Kentucky football and basketball. Fishing- I’m not very good, but love the peace and contemplation I get from just wetting a line on a beautiful day. Gardening- Love to landscape around my house and grow vegetables in my backyard garden.
  • If I could Preach one more time, I would say...: I would agree with Paul and say that I have no other message than Christ and Him crucified. Isn’t that the underlying message of every sermon we are to bring? I never tire to telling of Christ’s amazing sacrifice and God’s relentless love that sent Him to the cross.
  • What I want on my tombstone: He served God with his whole heart.
