About Gregory
  • Education: High School, Some College
  • Experience: 23 years. 10 Years as a Prison Chaplain, 2 Church Plants, Mission Pastor, Currently Pastor of a rural Baptist Church with great folks.
  • Comment to those looking at my sermons: I am not an educated person. I have no seminary and only a semester of college. I read God’s word and pray for guidance. 30 years ago, most everyone, including myself would have laughed at the thought of me going to church, much less a pastor. God has proved through my life, that he can use anyone he wishes as long as they are willing.
  • Sermon or series that made a difference: A sermon my pastor did about 12 years ago, before I surrendered to preach, on friendship. It made me realize how important we are to one another in God’s kingdom. It also made me realize what an impact one could have on the world, when we let God use us.
  • One of my favorite illustrations: The little boy giving blood to his sister, thinking he is going to give all of his blood and die.
  • Family: Wife: Deana 2 Sons, 1 Daughter and 2 Beautiful Grand-Daughters
  • What my parents think of my sermons: Do not know.
  • What my spouse (really) thinks of my sermons: She assures me that my sermons speak to her heart and that she enjoys my preaching very much. She does tell me when I seem to be off a little or having trouble delivering a message.
  • Best advice given to me about preaching: Some sermons are copper pennies, some are silver dollars, but all have value and or meant for someone. Sometimes you are preaching to just one person......
  • Books that have had an impact: A.W. Tozer-In Pursuit of God Max Lucado-He chose the nails Max Lucado-It happened one Friday Max Lucado-He still moves stones
  • Hobbies: Auto Restoration, Woodworking, Fishing, Reading
  • Something funny that happened while preaching: While pastoring a small country church of about 20, the congregation decided to cancel christmas day services, which fell on a Sunday that year. I announced that either way, I would be in church that morning, either preaching or attending another service. My wife chimes in, as serious as could be, "yes it will be good to hear a good sermon". I thanked her for her support. Of course she said she meant a good sermon from someone beside me.
  • What I want on my tombstone: He did not die, he lived!
