• Education: Graduated Word of Life in New York with a one year diploma then graduated from London Baptist Bible College with a Bachelor of Religious Education then graduated from Liberty University with a Masters of Arts in Religion.
• Experience: Youth Pastor for five years, then a senior pastor for ten followed by assisting in several churches.
• Comment to those looking at my sermons: Look carefully, there has to be something that relates to you and your situation.
• Sermon or series that made a difference: A five year expositional study of the book of Matthew. I’ve had people say, "I came to the church when you were in chapter so and so, while others asked if I had any other books in my Bible."
• One of my favorite illustrations: It’s the famous words of Forrest Gump who said, “My momma always said life was like a box of chocolates…you never know what you’re gonna get.”
• Family: My wife and I and two children, a daughter living near us and a son who is living in another province.
• What my parents think of my sermons: Excellent, like any parent would.
• What my spouse (really) thinks of my sermons: Excellent, most of the time.
• Best advice given to me about preaching: If you can’t be clear, at least be brief.
• Books that have had an impact: Anything by C.S. Lewis, George Verwer’s Come, Live, Die
• Hobbies: I enjoy studying and walk about 5 miles a day.
• If I could Preach one more time, I would say...: I remember years ago hearing a preacher say, “What if when one of the moon landings returned and one of those who walked on the face of the moon had found a book. And he brought that book back and NASA had it printed and available for anyone to read. How many of you would want to actually own and read a copy of the book that could hold the secrets of the universe?” Them he went on to point out that each of us has access to a book that came not from the moon but from the very presence of God Himself and this book was actually dictated by Him. Listen, God wrote a book. Have you read it yet?
• Something funny that happened while preaching: I used to do the service in a nursing home once a month and one lady always sat in her wheelchair in the front row. One night around eleven-thirty I got a phone call from the nursing home and they said this lady was dying and would I come to pray with her and her two daughters. I went and she had the covers pulled up almost to her eyes. I read scripture and prayed and when I arrived home I got a phone call that she had died fifteen minutes after I left. Two days later I did her funeral. The next week I was doing the service at the nursing home and the lady was sitting in the front row. I had buried the wrong person.
